I have no idea why, probably my coverage is really too high, but its 1000$ for 6 months and I drive a 2003 Honda Pilot.
BODILY INJURY & PROPERTY DAMAGE LIABILITY $478.00
BI $50,000 EACH PERSON - $100,000 EACH ACCIDENT
PROPERTY DAMAGE LIABILITY - $50,000 EACH ACCIDENT
COMPREHENSIVE ACV LESS $500 DEDUCTIBLE $78.00
COLLISION ACV LESS $500 DEDUCTIBLE $202.00
UNDERINSURED MOTORIST $59.00
$50,000 EACH PERSON - $100,000 EACH ACCIDENT
UIM PROPERTY DAMAGE $10,000 LESS $100 DED $19.00
$300 DED IF HIT-N-RUN
ADDITIONAL PERSONAL INJURY PROTECTION $127.00
$35,000 LIMIT
Total Policy Premium $963.00
I could probably reduce some of those substantially, its still the same policy that I got when I first got my car and I pretty much just did what my dad told me to get. :p
This is all with Progressive btw. |

i pay 900 for 1 year, would be about 75 a month
2012 Wrangler, about 30k miles a year
my deductible on collision and comprehension is 250, i believe everything is 100/300 but i cant exactly remember.
I have no accidents but a few drag racing tickets (in montana only 5pts each) from my previous car... im sure id pay a lot less if i didnt have those |

I was fine without paying car insurance until Florida made it mandatory and suspended your license for not having it. I drove without knowing mine was suspended for a year. Would've been a double whammy had I gotten into an accident.
I got rid of my car and use the busses, since I'm in school. Much cheaper.
I hate car insurance like I hate seatbelt tickets. If I don't want to insure my POS vehicle or protect my corpse from going through the windshield, let me do it. I've known people who have barely enough money to eat get $200 seatbelt tickets. ain't right, yo. |

Yea... It used to be a lot higher, almost 250$ higher when I first got coverage... Its insane too, when I first got coverage they asked how far I commuted to work and it was like 4 miles... I barely put miles on the thing. |

When did it become mandatory?! :wtf: It sounds recent... :nervous: I thought most states have had that for years and years. |

so then get liability only... that way if you hit someone else at least your insurance will pay for their car and your pos can be left to rot. my brother got hit by an uninsured motorist and hes STILL after 3 years going through court trying to get it paid for... now we have uninsured motorist coverage on our insurance, but its stupid we have to pay extra because other people dont want to pay a lousy 25 dollars a month for liability. |

if you raise your deductable to 1000 instead of 500, it should help a little bit.
Also, any insurance company that does not judge your rates by how much you drive is retarded. My mom had Geico, and they charged the same amount if she drove 5k or 15k a year. it was really ed up. She switched over to mine and got it dropped significantly. plus that actually helped mine go down too (multiple car/driver discount). |

It's recent. Hence me not knowing I was driving on a suspended license during the time I didn't have insurance.
I guess the insurance company now sends info to the DMV if you stop making payments. It was never like that before. |
