How much do you pay for car insurance? (pg. 9)

My friend told me she pays 270 or 280 some odd dollars A MONTH. :wtf:

She's racked up quite a few violations over the years, lol.

God, I couldn't imagine having to pay that much for insurance.

I love when the powerbottom tries to act cool by picking on the weakest link.

Figured I'd bump this thread.

I am going to drop my policy with Progressive after this period is over. I noticed on my renewal documentation that I am being dinged and not given the best rate for having in their words "not our most favorable" payment terms.

Seeing that I have never missed a payment, and I pay in full for 6 months, and have done so for the last 6 years, this is bull, especially when my policy is almost 1000$ for 6 months (and this is minus the annoyance that even though I have a perfect driving record and never made a claim, my rate has gone up!).

So yea, Progressive.

What would be favorable terms? If you paid monthly?

Oh, I see IGK has an English flag on, your dad wouldn't happen to be Jimmy Savile would he?

I guess, but thats more expensive, almost 180$ more over the course of 6 months.

So yea, I get a "discount" for paying for 6 months, but I also don't get the lowest rate... :wtf:

Such a ing scam.

Yeah that does sound like bull and I'm surprised they can legally do that. I can understand charging you more if you pay only 1 month at a time because they're taking on extra risk, but I don't get the logic behind charging you more if you pay half a year in advance.

I mean I understand that they're losing the $180 every 6 months since you're paying in advance, but then they're trying to go back and make it up by raising your rates. :wtf:

I have Progressive too, maybe I need to start shopping around.

How is that even possible. I don't believe you, Kramer-Cramer!

It also depends a lot on the area you live and park your car. I pay around $700 for 1 year comprehensive, but I know if I lived in Queens NY for example I would pay around $2,000 for the same coverage.

Nou, you should try out the Snapshot thing from Progressive. I think they take off 30% if you don't slam on the brakes or anything for a month.

That s a little creepy though. They'd see me masturbating when stuck in traffic!

I just bought a car.

Decided to insure it (not like I have a choice in this state, anymore).

$37/month

Paid the year off so I wouldn't have to worry about it.

Aren't you guys proud? :D
