Until something better comes along.. I (think) I just put the finishing touches on this at least with these ears, and at least for tonight.. Take a listen and let me know how it sounds on your system..

For what it's worth.
I like it in general but to me it has one huge problem
The buildups are fine. The sounds used are good. I like the filter sweep work.
But it just never seemed to reach a peak. To me it sounded like a great background waiting for a big lead or some other 'event' to complete it.
As it sits, it's sounds like slight variations on a repetitive theme. I was watching the playback and at the 3:50 mark I expected the 'big' to come in, but it didn't.
Put some fireworks in and I think it will really help. |

Few inputs from my corner:
- listen to you beat separately, you are a DJ, is this what you would like a beat to sound like when mixing it's intro into a set?
- Now listen to the beat and bassline together, does it give you that "next stage" , that "extra", "owh yea.. getting there groove" ?
- Now listen to all of your leads, what do you want this track to be? Euphoric? hard trance?
I would advise you to listen to these building blocks and focus on them individually to get each of them where you want them to be. Then put everything back together and make it work.
also experiment with putting some percussion /kick loops from your favorite tracks under this and see what's causing the difference.
Ultimate question for yourself would be: Would YOU play this in your set? if YES, you're there. If the answer is NO, then think why not and what needs more work? |

Okay yea, I'm right there with you. I only know how to do so much though. Personally, I felt this track to be a huge leap forward in my road to producing "that track". So there's still a lot I need to know.
Your suggestions are noted. I'll circle back around to it and start with the percussion elements. Although, I did do what you suggested and listened to everything independently. That's how I got the kick and percussion element to where it is now. Do you think by adding a "loop" I could increase its "groove"?
What about the bassline? I sidechained it to a separate kick to give it that infamous pumping sound. But the bass I just wanted to sit somewhere in the mix. What pattern/sequence would fit well with this song?
Ahh! There's still so much I have to learn. More feedback please!! |

Don't get me wrong, progress is good right, I kind of hear something Tiesto' ish from his "Just Be" album.
But yes it needs groove
It needs a better kick
it DOESN't need a note on EVERY 16th
and it could do with some groove (try to apply some swing in the 58/60% strenght area)
So melody wise you're nearly there, try to have the bassline go down on each 4 measures, so yuor rif keeps playing the same, but it sounds evolving, will get that part a lot more engaging and try to remove some notes and apply some swing.
also use a delay to create some ghost notes bouncing around in the background. |

wrong forum. You need a ing blog, some friends or a life. Stop posting your awful music in the wrong section. It is always awful and what you expect other than the obvious especially when you don't have the respect to post where others post is beyond me. How much ing blow does one have to insuflate to be this self absorbed. Or are you mentally retarded. That would make more sense and i suppose i would apologize. But until you clarify you are a retard, well please off.
IN the one year of making music, the only thing to chain is your index on the bristol stool chart. Basically it is . Has been , is still and every increment you feel you have to share, those clips you took 3 minutes to do and feel you just have to show people, well its . Please stop posting your . |

| I don't expect to be Tiesto, nor do I expect anything more than the last track I put together. What I do expect is to learn something new from every song I try to do. And with each new track, your advice, criticisms, feedback, and recommendations are highly appreciated. So thank you!! |

Eh, he's trying to learn and he has a better chance of that happening by posting here. why discourage him like that?
I mean you started a thread about sasha grey, but you consider this to be in the wrong section? |

even though im not denying that ryans not on it, whats your obsession with porn stars and rock star drugs...:haha: I am getting the feeling that you were one of those extremely straight edge guys who thought it was bad ass when some guy lit up a joint at a party.
as far as the track... I think everything been said, you are learning which is good, but the low end seems to not exist at all, wrong combination of kick and bass... and vice versa |

nope. I don't know why you think i'm obsessed with pornstars. I rarely make any mention unless it is a judgement about that industry and the people in it.
Just because i have my together doesn't mean i can't get down. Everything i do , i do well. |
