I was 17.
My friends had just started smoking marijuana a few months prior.
Excited to try, we went to his house and set up a tent in his backyard.
We didn't know how to roll a joint, so we got his dirt bag brother to roll our joints. The took most of our weed rolling our joints with half tobacco.
That didn't matter.
We started smoking inside the tent. I took a couple hits but it was way too harsh for me to continue, that didn't matter either as we were in a 4' by 4' land of smoke.
Upon exiting the tent, I felt fine. A little light headed, but nothing that met my expectations of this so called 'marijuana'.
Was that a dragon?
Obviously not I convinced myself. Decided I wasn't high at all. Put on my headphones and started listening to my 64 MB Mp3 Player.
This is a good spot to lie down, close my eyes and listen to this awesome song I've never heard before.
I AM SO COOL..the song had me convinced.
My friends are staring at me. I wonder why? They're probably jealous of my 64 MB mp3 player.

I think they're trying to communicate with me. They'll have to yell a little bit louder, idiots...I'm wearing headphones.
Eventually I took my headphones off and they decided it was time for some sort of activity.
Randy: "How do you feel man"
Me: "So cool"
Randy: "RIGHT?! THIS WEED IS AWESOME.'
Brad: "What? No. I don't think I'm stoned"
Randy: "Dude, you are SOO ED"
Brad: "Am I? I don't feel very stoned.."
Randy: "Look at your spine. it keeps turning"
I start to look behind me, trying to examin my spine.
I started to spin in circles.
Brad: "WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME"
at this point i was not able to control it. I was just spinning around and around.
Everyone was laughing at me, but I wasn't really enjoying this witchcraft.
Brad: "Randy, stop it. I can't...WHAT IS HAPPENING"
moments past and I was able to gain control of my body once again.
We went for a walk, throughout the walk randy would say "BRAD, your spine is doing it again." and every time, I would start to spin in circles.
What great fun that night was..there's more but that's basically it. |

Was straight arrow, into sports and health nut. Drugs were strictly off limit. Fast forward to 18, met a girl, made some friends through her clique, few were tokers. We bonded fast, so, some months later, we're sitting in a park late at night, playing guitar, hanging. Someone lights up a joint and it gets passed around. First time I waived it off. But peer pressure was no match for my will, especially after my girl got lit up and told me it would be fun. Few tokes later, I'm bent over coughing my lungs out. Few minutes later, I'm splattered on pavement like a road kill, trying to stop the earth from spinning around me, really nauseous. I must have laid there for an eternity, but heard people whispering, like I had superpowers or something. One girl off to the side, whispered to her boyfriend "finger me", I heard it - swear to god. So, I say drunkenly "did you just ask him to finger you?"
She was about 15 feet away. All I heard was a gasp and her boyfriend said to her "why don't you ing shout it next time!". She was in shock, everyone in stitches, laughing their ass off. The girl was like - how the did you hear it? But I just did. She decided to test me. Everyone got super quiet and she whispered something in her bf's ear, asking if anyone heard it. No one did. But me. She said "there's no way he can hear me call him a freaky weirdo this quietly".
Even today, I notice that when I get high, my hearing becomes super sensitive...
Oh, and I had munches from hell - don't remember what I ate but I never shat so much before or since. |

| 17 years old, was a hardcore competitive swimmer and was visiting my brother in college. He let me hit his gravity bong 3 or 4 times, and we went inside to watch The Godfather. I had no idea what was going on in the movie. Closed my eyes and it felt like I was spinning and could feel the "weed particles" traveling through my blood stream. Later on I asked their roommate chick friend if I could borrow her car to go get some ice cream. She told me " no". So I walked and got some myself. |

Took a few puffs out of a couple of joints when I was 19-20. Since I was trying to look cool back then, I puffed the joints like cigarettes and didn't hold the smoke in long enough, thus I never got high my first couple of times. Then there was the time my cousin had a pipe and we smoked a bowl outside the house. But the weed must have been bunk, for even though I held the smoke in, I still didn't feel any different besides having a very irritated throat and the need to drink a whole 20 oz soda.
It wouldn't be until I was 21, the night before the first SF Love Parade, that I would take a bong hit and finally understand the marijuana high. Even though I threw up shortly after, that night turned out to be most excellent. Watched the funniest episode of MTV's Boiling Points I've ever seen, and tripped out to a couple of progressive house tunes. Unfortunately I stayed up too late for it, and only got 5 hours sleep for a day where I would end up partying for 17 straight hours.
