Ah, the complainers. People who constantly talk about how bad everything is.
The type of people I hide from my FB news feed, basically. Every post is either "My life is horrible, nothing ever goes my way, people are awful, etc." or "OMG I love my boyfriend/girlfriend so much!". |
"Hide all by" must be the best feature on Facebook. |

| Prefer people who exude energy themselves, the kind of people that are fun to bounce off and give you a good kick to keep going yourself. Generally it's those people who have a passion and follow up on it consistently or have the intelligence to debate things without disregarding any other opinion before you've even started. Those who suck away the energy from a room should be thrown into a pit where the only company they have is repeats of How I Met Your Mother to see if it really is funny after 19000 consecutive episodes. If it is, we've all learned something today. |

My boss is a vampire! And I think today is the day that I snap, and let her know that she's completely empty inside. I don't know how else to get her to leave me alone. It's taken so much for me not to have gone to her boss about it.
I've just never met anyone who would call someone into their office to look at how many comments they got on a recent photo they posted. WTF!:whip:  :whip:  :eyespop: |

Had quite a few of those, but I just severed all ties with them. Just stopped taking calls, responding to emails, basically made it clear I was not available.
Also - people whose life is in a constant state of crisis. I had this one friend from my younger days. I grew up, he didn't. Very sharp, had all the indications he would outgrow his white trash roots. Nope. Never did.
Constant whining, constant dramma, constant problems holding the job down, constant money problems, constant guilting. Friendship sorta died when he borrowed $1200 for as he put it "child custody case". Next thing I know, he's sporting new threads, got a PSP with some games. When I asked where'd it come from, he tells me his MOM BOUGHT IT FOR HIM. Yeah. A 30 year old's mom is buying his baby toys still. Right.
>er only repaid $200. I lost $1000 but I figure it was a relatively cheap price to pay to get that prick out of my life forever. |

Two things have always helped me deal with these people: sympathy (something you can run out of, if you become apathetic) and humour.
If someone starts complaining too much, I crack a joke and it breaks the cycle. |

Weird I was going to make a thread about this... only titled "Do you like your friends"
Sounds like a stupid question but I know people who maintain friendships just because there's this parasitic energy exchange going on
It might be floaty, new age and gay, but read the Celestine Prophecy there is a part that sums up the entirety of human behavioral psychology in like 1 chapter (the control dramas) |

I just tried this with my now ex. Except when I cracked a joke she'd get mad at me for "not taking her seriously." :wtf: |
