| headliner at Avalon usually goes on at 1. SF to Avalon in 1.5 hours? Even with a private jet that's tough. Wouldn't be surprised if he was on at 1:30. |

| I may head over to Avalon after Boom Jinx's set at Circus, but probably not, so everybody going to this have fun! Hopefully Sander plays trance. :p |

got on at 2 am...weird vibe, weird set, left at 3.
have never left a dj in the middle of his set, also, tonight/today is my bday, was looking forward to this but left with just a weird taste in my mouth and just had a weird feeling.
he wasnt too mainstream, but if you go on at 2, you HAVE to throw in your popular songs to get the crowd going...which he failed to do. chasin, what did i do, and molly song, in 1 hr is NOT enough when all the other songs you play are non-vocal tracks that nobody really knows about, especially when you go on at 2!!!
ppl were friendly, but with majority guys and the inability to get crowd going, was time to call celebration 1/2 a night.
hate to always use markus as the measuring stick, but damn does he know how to get the crowd moving at the right time, sander is just not cut to have that responsibility when starting at 2 am in the morning. |

maybe the crowd just sucked...
You play at 2am, that's pretty much going into after hours....screw vocals, lol.
SvD (and SJ+RM) played in Oakland last night as well, prob why he was so late to Avalon. |

| So he only played for 2 hours (SJ+RM came on at 4). The crowd was definitely into it. |

| I was definitely not happy when he didn't show up till 2am and then only played for 2 hrs. But his set actually was alright with a lot of energy IMO but nothing of his old stuff. |

Sander was obviously running a little behind last night, hence the 2 a.m. start time but that didn't really bother me, the opening DJ kept the crowd moving fairly well when he realized Sander wasn't coming on at 1:30. I tend to disagree that Sander wasn't mainstream. He played quite a few Beatport Top 100 tracks, many of them house tracks and the set was all over the place. He looked a little drunk so that may have something to do with it, but then again he kind of always looks like that when I've seen him. Regardless of my bitching I still had an enjoyable time, I just wish he would play more unreleased stuff off his label. I know there's some gems cranking out of there. SJ+RM were eh. They definitely kept the crowd moving but they had too many vocal loops with ty transitions out them (same thing at their Ultra set) and it got annoying after a while. Left around 5 when tranny overload started to take over. Fun night with the people we went with for sure.
edit: I looked at his track list from Ultra and it's almost exactly what he played last night, plus a few tracks to make it a complete 2 hours. That also means there's a good probability the set at Popsicle wasn't radically different either. I know that's pretty common for many DJ's to play similar sets within a short period of time but don't some of these guys get sick of playing the same stuff over and over? I'm all for promoting some of your productions in your set but my favorite part about Djing is constantly mixing up track selection. Maybe I'm weird. Rant done. |

| I had a good time. Didn't recognize a lot of tracks in the 1st hour except Chasin, Koko, and a couple others. Toward the end though it was bangers & anthems - in my mind, troll, etc. Overall a good night but not an especially memorable set, and yes he did seem drunk, and starting at 2 AM is a bit late considering they close the dancefloor around 11:15 now so I was out there for 2.5 hours before he even came on. |
