You can't embed it, but there is a ing awesome video on Youtube of Halcyon & On & On put over the Beyond The Infinite section of 2001:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-lw3tXuIE4
It doesn't synch perfectly (but then, I'm completely confident that the Beatles don't synch perfectly either, and the potheads just ignore the parts that don't quite fit) and it's a completely different tone to the frankly brilliant and deeply unsettling Ligeti score, which is another reason why it's ing stupid to put pop music over Kubrick's films - he used music to create incredible effects, and wiping that out with the Beatles only diminishes the artistry of his work. But still, recalibrating Beyond The Infinite to complement Orbital's blissed out drug sopoforia creates something different and beautiful in its own right. |

Yeah, that vid is great.
Like this one, too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WY1qn-k9qE
Also the Ligeti is not a proper "score" (it was not written for the film). Kind of pedantic, but hey it's ing 2001.
:p |

| Beatles were mostly , in addition to being the start of everything that's wrong with the music "industry" today. |

Just read this on the Wiki for 2001:
| quote: | | Ligeti admired Kubrick's film, but in addition to being irritated by Kubrick's failure to obtain permission directly from him, he was not entirely pleased that his music occurred in a film soundtrack shared by composers Johann and Richard Strauss. |
Not sure if that's because he disliked Germans (most of his family was killed by the Nazis) or because he disliked the Strausses in particular. |

I'm afraid that the majority of the world will disagree with you. |

There's a fantastic one for the Bedrock remix of Cowgirl, set to footage from BBC nature documentary Deep Blue:

Yes, but as you've already established, most people in the world are lead around like cattle with too much money to spend. |

Are you saying you agree that The Beatles were mostly , or just pointing out the glaring argument ad populum fallacy? |
