Hello all

I am planning a trip to Ibiza this summer. I have decided to be there from monday to wednesday, July 9-12. I know several of you have been there and would appreciate any input.

1. Is beginning of July a good/peak season? I'd prefer to be there at its 'prime' I possible
2. Is a weekday similar to a weekend? I assume the answer is yes since it's a party town ad there are big residencies during weekdays. Is it safe to say a weekday is as busy as a weekend, or more or less?
3. What location is primary when it come to booking a hotel? Should I stay at San Antonio or downtown Ibiza or what? Any good hotels suggestions would be nice as well
4. What's public transportation like on ibiza? Am I better off renting a vehicle f I'm planning to cruise the island?
5. An destinations I should check out other than club and stuff? Heard of formentera already but would like to know if there's anything else that shoul go on the must list
6. Any dos and don't? What I should I be looking out for?

I appreciate in advance any advice you may have. I'm just trying to start to do my homework before I book the flight there.

I would reccommend a cup of coffee and a few hours on

The best days on the island are sun-thur IMO. Stay in PDB. Rent a car and explore the other parts of the island, that usually is the highlight of the trip for many, It was for us. There is alot to do on the island outside of the clubbing.

You might make it for the annual Full-Moon party on the north of the island. If its during your stint I would try my best to make it there.

slowest night of the week is Sat, party-wise.

there is the Ibiza 123 festival July 1st-3rd.... might want to think about going those dates and checking it out.

how's your hotel budget? if high, try the Pacha hotel as you get free entry in Pacha. Ushuaia is nice too with the daytime pool parties. Es Vive as well.

I would not stay in San An....

I would only rent a car for the days you really need it.... they are not cheap and its better to taxi or take buses when you are partying.

maybe your friend was saying they can't bring guests in for free, which is true.

But hotel guests are free.

nope, i had a ticket, they wouldnt let him in as a hotel guest. Maybe it had something to do with being mid-season (august)

Thanks for all the tips. And thanks for that website. It's been very useful so far.

I probably wouldn't be staying at pacha. A hotel worth 200 euro is around my budget. I would want to stay somewhere within a walking distance from the beach.

It seems like San Antonio has a lot more to offer. Is that the case or am I missing out something?

Any beaches you guys recommend that has a larger crowd of adults and a scene that is more hip as opposed to family beaches?

Are cab fares on the cheap side? Are they comparable to LA rates? A car rental is about 30 eu so i don't think it will be bad to rent one in the daytime.

Thanks for all your help

hmmm...

well I had 2 friends stay there and i know they didn't have a problem. Though one had the presidential suite and even he couldn't get guests in for free so he checked out! lol.

and if you do a quick google search you'll see all the mentions of the hotel parties, be it review of the hotel on Trip Advisor or marketing information on hotel websites all say you get in free as a guest.

no idea why your friend didn't... strange.

i've stayed at Pacha the last 2 times and like it a lot... just wish they didn't lose their view of Dalt Villa due to the apt building recently built right in front of it!

Stefan - San An has a lot of young British guys staying there on cheap package vacation tours.... has a bit of a negative rep due to that as they just tend to go out and get hammered lol.

Check out Es Vive.... probably in your price range and most people there are clubbers...

If you stay in San An, i think a taxi to Pacha or Space or Ushuaia might be like $40-50? (someone correct me if i'm wrong).

Hotel Garbi in Playa den bossa is in your budget and has a great location. Its a very nice hotel as well. I cant urge strong enough, dont stay in san antonio. Just head down there for a sunset or three and do the sunset bars.

This is what I hate about Ibiza hotels, no loyalty programs, no set rules, no standard policies. Heck, some dont even allow guest in your room.

This year I am doing it differently. Got a sweet apartment that came with a reference.
