What a stellar album. Together with Monolake's "Ghosts" the best albums I've heard this year.

Really nice track. Will check this out.

Thanks.

I don't think I need to post Mystical Rhythm.

That's really good. Reminds me of Danny Howells - September. Thanks for the pick.

What is exactly going through your mind when you make such wild speculations? Please clue me in :p

System-J I also like that track you recommended.

Well, you surely haven't heard much Vince Watson tracks because he's a brilliant producer. He makes all kinds of tracks and almost all of them are quality. It's not like he makes stuff outside your taste, either. I would agree that I prefer his more sharp-edged, sweaty techno to the jazzy stuff, but it's all good stuff.

It's typical Mark Anthony attention-seeking to pass judgement on a guy you've barely listened to.

If you read my statement objectively you'll see that I said I have many friends who like Vince Watson but the only one of his I can recommend is the Rendezvous release.

This statement implies that I'm not totally into Vince Watson, so therefor the only track I can really recommend is the one I like best. It does not imply that all other track by Vince Watson are bad.

No, it implies that you liked one release, you think it was called Rendezvous, and you aren't a fan of the rest of his stuff.

I can see how one could read it and see the explanation you gave above, but that is not how you come across in your original post. It implies you think the rest is bad, and you don't know why your friends like him so much.

And on topic, I don't know if I've heard anything from this guy before, but this track in the OP is great, so I added the album to my amazon wantlist :p

That implies that you've heard most of his catalogue, which you clearly have not done. Only a complete cretin would say "I can only recommend one release by [Artist X]" when they've only heard a handful of that artist's releases.

...yea anyhow, this is the Vince I really like:

One thing I dont really like is that he's using soft down tempo sounds and hooks but mixing them in with a techno type backdrop, usually at an uptempo pace. I think Vince's melodies could stand on their own as downtempo or ambient works. The club-music aspect of his production feels forced to me. To me it seems his melodies come to him easily while composing and then he has to lay the kick drum and bassline in as an afterthought.

Hehe, it's funny. You guys maybe will think i'm crazy but i'm hearing some tracks and reminds me of Brazilian Bossa Nova wich can be sometimes very similar with Jazz. Actually, Bossa Nova is the 'Brazilian Jazz'.

Anyway, i really enjoyed this style. What is it? Deep House?

Adam420 has a point Mark and this is something that I've been meaning to talk to you about for a while now. I'm getting sick and tired of having to pick through 8 labels every time I play records at your place. You have about 1400 different records to choose from. Can't you venture out a little more? Sheesh.
