I totally agree. People have to understand that the world does not revolve around trance. Thats right, THE WORLD DOES NOT REVOLVE AROUND TRANCE. Bunkka was an awesome album and these productions, as well as his past has made oakenfold reputabable and versatile as a dj and producer.
People just dont get it. GODDAMIT OAKEY IS NOT A TRANCE DJ. Before his famous trance years hes played hip hop stuff and did remixes for hip hop artists as well as U2.
If people cant appreciate other music aside from trance then i feel sorry for them.
Even Sasha's new album has changed from his recent style. |

I dont care what Oakenfold does, He has really really impressed me with his recent sets. I think i am the only Trance Addict from england who actually thinks this, seems that the other trance addicts all want to gang up against people like me. Oakenfold seems to be swinging in the progressive Trance/ Trance direction, and is doing this very very well. His set from Godskitchen Global gathering was really good, His set on radio 538 last night was brilliant.
Oakenfold is a brilliant DJ. |

First of all, I agree with tranceseeker, dmatrox, and burns. Oakenfold makes different types of music. His recent trance sets have been good, who cares if he's also successful making different types of music? I don't see how this is affecting trance... his commercial success has nothing to do with his trance success, so its not like he's ruining trance. And, contrary to popular belief, all pop music is not bad... only 99.5% is.

| yeh but just coz sumthing is different doesnt make it "innovative" at the end of the day what it boils down to is he is making pop hipihop! now if sum1 crayz town or sum other equally bent arsed pop group made this track you would say it was and cheese. and id liek to see you deny that with a straight face, because its the 100% truth and you all know it. |

As for the actual song, I can stand it but wouldent go out and buy the track. I just really like Oakenfolds DJ sets of late.
By the way, too the people who disagree with Tiesto & Oakenfold, thats kool but please dont smash them, i wouldent have the ignorance to go and put some one down just because they didnt spin your best music genre, come on thats how all these wars are beginning on TranceAddict. We need to all agree on some-thing because these wars are un-healthy and certainly un-freindly.
The people who dislike Tiesto and Oakenfold make it obvious, i could name every member, But there fans dont make threads about how much hard trance stinks, and how e dumonde/shokk are, lets be fair to each other man ! |

Good point, but it's not what I was arguing... I never said I liked his music, I never said it was innovative, and I never said it was different. In fact, I haven't heard many tunes off of that pop cd... only the original of southern sun (its a breaks track, right? or was that some other remix?) and starry eyed surprise (oliver lieb's remix)... so I can't comment.
But his dj sets have been decent recently and thats why I don't like the bashing... he's not ruining trance or anything, give him a break. |

yeh but i dont make threads about them being do i? i input factual information into a discussion oin the subject in question, if its negative then be that as it may its still factual. it is not my fault if a load of clueless wits procede with "tiesto sucks" "no he is god" "no he is " "you suck, he is god" etc etc. and you cant say that post wasnt aimed at me because the baltent inclusion of hardtrance, shokk and dumonde show it.
when dumonde do a remix (the theme) i admit it, look at the thread. i dont see any peopel with tiesto in their name admitting tiesto's remixes are . i am a realist, i would prefer it if i was not confused with same-heads of this forum, as i see i most often am. oakenfolds sets of late have been getting better, he played a decent set @ SSS when i last saw him. but this thread was about starry eyed suprise, which is infact dire, and you (TS) got the truth about the track, it is awful and pop music, tbh you layed yourself open to a flaming from any samers on the board be they people i know or any of the other lot. infact who is to say u didnt just post thsi thread for a flame? im sure you didnt, but it can come across that way you know? and i also like all genres of trance, matt hardwick is my fave DJ for s sake, everyone seems to think im all about the hardtrance, hell, people dont even get what sorta hardtrance i listen to half the time anyway. anywya, maybe soem will actually REAd and THINK about my reply rathr than being blasé and syaing its a flame and that i suck for not liking something and expressing facts :haha:
then again im used to it. i remeber the days of pvd... ;)
by the way burns not all of that was aimed at you, just the first bit just the general message to all those peopel who are gonna jump on the bandwagon and say "its cool to hate so-and-so so u r lame for doing so" etc. |

the inoovative comment was aimed at TS. i think hes under the impression i had said the tune was because it was different from trance, when infactm its pop music/hiphop |

Its funny on these boards, how when a DJ 'shines' everyone, excuse me, most people seem to have a problem with it. Who cares if Oakenfold goes to celebrity parties and such? Is it really that big of a deal, or your problem?
I couldnt respect someone more than Paul Oakenfold. Not only was he a main influence in me coming to like dance music, but he is one of the most educated business men around. I have to respect that given my educational background.
People may hate on him cause he's not 'underground' any more, and mainstream people are starting to like him. Remember at one time all of us were mainstream people, listening to rap/hip-hop, rock or whatever. Basically you are just critizing yourself, which I find quite funny.
Let me man earn his money, stop crying about it. I think most are just jealous because they wish they were in his position. I know Id love to trade places. But I dont cry about it and analyse his every footstep.
Same with Tiesto. So he is getting bigger. More people are liking him that arent 'underground'. Who cares? If you were really a fan of the music, you wouldnt have any problem sharing it with others. |

Good call, I think most Tiesto remixes are e (svenson & geilen, faithless, avalon,lost witness) but he makes up for this in his sets and `some` productions (Dallas 4pm, Obsession, Lethal Industry). I love Tiesto as a DJ but dont think anything of it if he makes a Shocking remix, Same goes for Oakenfold. Ive never heard a decent Oakenfold production/ remix, but his sets are amazing of late and thats what counts to me.
Personally i dont grade a DJ by what he produces, they are two differant things.
People (Not aimed at you DT, well kinda is, he he) Judge DJs by there prodcutions. |
