| oakenfold is a sellout to the trance community!! I talked to him when he was in Miami and I told him that his new sucks...(before the bunkka release) and I was like when are you going to play some trance for once. He was like I bet you anything you'll like bunkka better than all my other CDs....so I went and got it what a ing sellout. But I must say that he did play his old trance while he was in Miami, but I'm never going to see him again |

Ok Here I go
To all thos people that said he is not a trance DJ GOOD ON YOU! Oakey started his career with Hip Hop. Then Acid! To those that say "Oh Oakey is a trance DJ" what the are you thinking!
And hang on werne't most of you faming Oakey as a DJ? His recent sets have been ing brilianT! Just because you don't like his PRODUCTIONS doesn't mean he is a DJ.
I'd just like to quote Oakey here to clear a few ing things up!

Oakey doesn't want to stay the same! He doesn't want to play 99 trance forever! If you ask me I say GOOD ON HIM! I reckon at least 25% of people on TA were hooked to trance by Oakey! I was and I respect the man for what he has done and what he is doing. He is trying things he isn't used to. Sometimes called courage. I'm glad he hasn't stayed in the same style. WHat would that have proven!

And this "Selling out"
You actually mean he's becoming more popular right! But you choose to call it selling out because it makes you feel beter that you listen to music that has not "Sold Out"
Now with trance becoming more Popular in Australia does that mean that Trance is selling out in Aus? Or what about in 99? Did trance "Sell Out" in Europe. Of course none of you would ever say this because you like trance and have to defend it at all costs. But as soon as Oakey makes a more mainstream album he has "Sold Out".
Just respect him for who he is, what he's done for all you minions. Maybe you should all get back to your roots! Cause those words
"Paul Oakenfold live at Gatecrasher Lotherton Hall" still send shivvers down my spine and I don't think it will ever stop doing so.

4) ‘ur’ is spelt ‘your’.
5) Your second comma after 'does' should be a full stop, because you go on to make an entirely different point. The way you have it, stops the sentence from flowing.
6) ‘ i’m ’ should have a capital ‘I’.
7) ‘readin’ ends in ‘g’ i.e. ‘reading’.
8) ‘up’ should have a full stop after it.

I was just asking myself the same thing.Why was I so dumb to think that me posting here would make any difference?Stupid thing to do.I just hoped that MAYBE some people here had realized from the several dozen Oakey-threads in the past that threads like this will only lead to flaming.But it seems that I was just being naive thinking that something like that would ever happen...:rolleyes: |

What about the swordfish album oakey did? that was good, and that wasnt too long ago.
if were gunna start having a go about 1 album why don't we pick on every artist. hmmmm ferry corsten - early works and remix projects now that sucked. lol. well i didnt like it, but i wont hold it against all the GOOD things he's done.
just remember oakey was one fo the founder of house/trance, he's made arguably the best ever mix compilation, owns/runs one of the worlds biggest record labels full of quality artists/tracks, opened a sub label fo euphoric/goa trance (fluoro), has been worlds no.1 DJ twice, and is now trying to concure the UK charts. He just wants to do everything, give the guy a break :) |
