| I've lost over 20lbs over the last 2 months due to stress, and i'd like to make it back to 200lbs by summer so I don't look like a fag on the beach. Workout programs, diet tips welcome. I've heard about the whole milk diet, where you consume several quarts of whole milk a day for a total of 3500 calories. I know i need to reduce cardio and up my weight training, but i'm afraid to gain fat. Suggestions? I'd like my clothes to fit properly again. I've yo yo'ed between 230 and 180 over the last 3 years. Insane if you think about it. |

All of this is super common knowledge - and probably stuff you already know - and as with most things, take it with a grain of salt, as most things are not 100% accurate all of the time, ever. But...
In general:
-Stop drinking beer, and drinking any other sugars.
-Fruit *can* definitely make people fat in immoderate amounts; eat it sparingly and for vitamin/fiber benefit.
-Keep lifting heavy stuff with proper form, and don't stop pushing yourself to do so (unless you're in actual pain, rather than just physical duress/soreness). Up your weight lifted at a very steady pace, as if you injure yourself you'll set yourself back a ton.
-Stop drinking beer.
-Drink at least half of your bodyweight (lbs.) # in ounces of water each day. Even a bit more when you're working out.
-PROTEIN! Your bodyweight (lbs.) in grams of protein each day. You'll take polar bear s, which can only benefit this forum.
-Do your best to get plenty of sleep. It's vital to recuperation, and thus gain in muscle mass, as your muscles repair themselves after you "damage" them (lifting). Easier said than done, I know...
-Stop drinking beer. |

Personally, I like to buy those large bags of frozen, individually wrapped salmon/tilapia/flounder filets. Target sells the best I've come across (we're talking frozen fish here), and it's usually a bag of 10 for about $10. Pretty ing cheap. That and steamer bags of broccoli/cauliflower/asparagus, you can eat ing cheap for dinner, and still get great amounts of quality protein/veggies.
I know you love to cook though, so maybe you're going to have to do some more elaborate research on how to please your particular palate in a healthy manner. :p |

| Those are all farm raised salmon from Chile. It's pretty gross how they're raised, and they're not actually pink due to the lack of natural nutrients in their diet. They're fed pink dye pills to give them the normal salmon color. |

//And Kroger in Colorado sells Wild-Caught flounder, and other feesh. You may have a point about tilapia, but those are almost always bottom-feeders anyway, so I don't think it matters much. It's not like it's processed meat, in any case. |

| Ya don't say. That's really surprising given the price. |

actually my quitting drinking is part of the weight loss i'm sure...it could also be a side effect of the meds i'm on. I don't even get hungry...it can be like 5pm and i have to ask myself if i ate yet. I simply don't get hungry. Doc says stress, and the stress is there...but i've been stressed before and never lost weight this rapidly.
the last 2 months have been hell, and it ain't over.
i'm going to start eating a load of canned tuna, rice and veg. someone suggested creatine, but that isn't for me. |

Don't, unless you want to have mercury poisoning

Jay I suggest you hit up Super C. they have those $10 bags of frozen meat that Hal was referring to, but you can get 10 chicken on pork souvlaki brochettes for 10 bucks. They have other stuff as well.
Finally, have you not been getting high? |

even weed doesn't make me hungry.
i don't like buying frozen. the canned tuna diet is just to gain muscle mass, many body builders use it. I'm open to other suggestions. I'd like to gain a good 25lbs before june. A hard 25lbs. I just force feed myself. I don't even feel like cooking lately...which considering how much i love to cook says it all.
i've cut down on the weed, but still smoke because i want to quit 1 thing at a time. i used to drink almost every day, so stopping that was hard, with all the happening right now, i don't think i could handle quitting everything at once. |

| i could also use a new workout plan. i can't do squats though, my knees are finished. I'm getting surgery for them next year, hopefully this will change things. |
