| traktor is awful allround. Using the beatgrid doesn't really work unless you really add markers and that takes time. Warp the track, lock the bpm to what you warped it to. Then hit sync once, unsync and you are at the same bpm and it won't drift. So ing simple. The only thing the dj has to do is make sure the phase is accurate. So a few adjustments and you don't even have to worry. |

Im talking about the DJs who use the CDjs in clubs.
Alot use computers these days but alot (in sydney) still use the CDJs without comps. you scroll the bpm up until you just hit 128 and then they assume that all track will mix fine without beatmatching.
I wonder if producers use to do that to stop ty mixers! hahaha |

| they still warp their tracks. It doesn't make a difference. Whether you play on cds or traktor. you've warped the track, beatmatching is already done for you. |

| As most of you know, i am a producer. However, just for fun and a bit of money, i do dj'ing on the side. Im now confused after reading this. what is "warping"?? whenever i get tracks that have different bpm's, i just hit the sync button and it gets them the same. I use virtual dj btw. Is there something else that i should use??? |

Yep, seen it happen. A friend of mine had his first gig in front of 8k people and did this since he hadn't had time to practice much and didn't want to mess up of course. |

| Warping is a feature in Ableton Live, to stretch audio files easily to match a the desired tempo/rythm. |

| nobody does that. i mean sure , the bedroom dj playing out his first time. It isn't worth the effort. Djing is that easy. It takes about 20 hours to be good enough to play out on cdjs and never train wreck. Sure you will suck as dj because djing is not about the technique but rather you abiliy to take in 100 cues from the people at any given time and know what to play, why you are playing it and what you will be playing in 30 minutes, |
