You should be ok getting back to Indio if leaving LA around 10pm. Worse case scenario be Indio by 1am. You also have the carpool lane on I-10. That will save you time too. |

Yea, there will be five of us that get in together Thursday so we will be doing this. I just see issues occurring around the 4-7 slot when I want to leave from the beach to do the other touristy stuff. I've done this before years ago, but the others haven't been to LA ever. Figured it would be cool to do instead of lounging around the pool all day. |

| I would just do it, when are you going to get the chance plus your friends have never been to LA. Venice beach and Hollywood isn't that far away from each other. Yes you will be stuck in rush hour traffic for about an hour to 1 1/2 hour going to Hollywood or you might just get lucky and fly thru it within an hour, but it will be worth it. Definitely use car pool it will make your life easier. They have it all throughout LA. |

go to san diego. youve got pacific/ocean beach, there is the zoo/balboa park, coronado island, if you all have passports u can take the trolley to the border and walk across to Tijuana if you really want some danger, hit up the red light district at night gringos!

Skimmed this thread. But that is great advise. Traffic and freeways are clear at night. Leave at 10pm and you will be in Indio at 12:15 possibly!
What airport are your flights into out of? |

if you do make your way to LA, you better hope its not raining. Rain here will add another 2+ hrs to your drive.

If it does rain, then probably going to scrap the trip and just stay around the Palm Springs and Indio area for the day instead. |
