my review

-Security and entry = good and fast

-Bar situation was horrible, long lines, not enough bars, no redbull and had this "go fast" crap instead that seems to cancel out the ridiculous amount of vodka I bought. I bought cups full of vodka and had to go to the go fast booth to get my energy drink, they were not sold at the same bar

-crowd was overall friendly. havent seen the friendly vibe like that in a long time, it was a good first impression of the Montreal people

-sound in trance room was severely lacking, even when front and center you could not really get into it. From the sides in the VIP area you could talk to your friend without raising your voice

-sound in house room was much better and filling

-lighting in main room was bad in comparison to the house room. The fusion cube, 3 sets of lighting in the ceiling, minimal amount of lasers use and weak pyro was no where near what the house room had

-Bathrooms were disgusting

-armins set was horrible (in my opinion) compared to the dancefloor murdering set at Mansion miami 2 weaks before.

-Markus was good, i have heard better out of him but I think it was the right music for the crowd

-steve angello, very predictable, its what the crowd expected though

-I never liked Fedde le grand but i thought his set was right for the place and time of night.

-eye candy was good :)

-I love the location, so many nice hotels directly across the street, I left after markus got off so I could get some rest. I wished ben gold would have opened for Armin. Public transsit to get to and from the Airport was really easy. I didnt even look ahead of time to see if I wanted to use the bus but the express bus to downtown made it extremely easy

overall I had massive expectations for the event which were not reached, I guess I have been spoiled from all of the massive events I have been to all over the world. good people, decent stage setup, weak sound, not enough extras compared to todays other shows. My other friends loved it except for the one who has been to many shows all over the world like I have.

Just got back from Montreal, man what a weekend.

Arrived around 4 am for Steve Angello. I was instantly counting down the hours until Danny Tenaglia played. I'm not a music snob or anything, but having to suffer through Steve Angello and Fedde Le Grand was hell on Earth. The minutes seemed like they stretched, I felt like a parent waiting for a kid to come home past curfew, I kept checking the time so much.

Finally, Danny came on and saved my life. Danny was on point, playing deep and dark, brooding and menacing tech house. I wonder how many of the Angello/Le Grand fans took to this style change in music. Maybe we won over a few converts.

I liked the sound in the room, unless you were really close to the speakers (the highs were hurting my ears at a few points). I stayed until the end, and Danny closed out with "Love will save the day." I always respected that about the old school New York DJs, they will take you on a twisted journey of dark music, and boom, the last song will be an uplifting classic to make you leave with that smile on your face.

Mad respect to Playground + Produkt for a great job with this party. Until next year...!

BeB 18 was fantastic! I hadn't been back in 5 years or so and the level of production has improved significantly and the crowd is more mixed that it used to be.

Overall a great night - I had fun wandering around and checking out the different sounds and DJs.

I was really there for Danny T and he delivered times 10. Can't wait for him to come back - I'll make a special trip out of it for sure.

Thanks for the promoters and organizers and ticketing team! Great party!

I love how so many services are getting worst year by year. The crowed is bigger and bigger. And tickets are more and more expensive. WIN!

I'm talking trough out the years. Most of my BEB tickets cost me less then 100$ back in the good ol day.
The Highroller
Jacques Lu Cont and Markus were fun for a bit. Other than that, the music wasn't really my thing. Tenaglia played a good set, but def not the best I've heard from him. Still saved the night though.

However, I still had a great time. The stage production/lighting was amazing. The vibe was through the roof the entire night. Also, I challenge anywhere to find better eye candy than Bal en Blanc. Hats off to les Quebecoises.

The bar situation was ridiculous. At an astronomical $8.75 per drink, there is no reason why I should have to wait 15-20 minutes to get a drink. The amount of bartenders and bars was grossly insufficient.

All in all, I had a great time, and look forward to my next Bal.
