Looking forward to this. Last time I saw Armin spin at Ruby, he went till 5am!

Gonna have to "call in sick" Thursday morning. :toocool:

I have a 6am flight Thursday morning to NY.
Either way I'm not going to be sleeping wednesday night!

ok, hoping ths sells out fast, and a second night gets booked for Tuesday -
that would be better, and avoid temptation of clubbing, then going straight to a flight.
Would like to see Jochen too.

oh, and it already sucks I'll be missing Sasha at Vessel the next night. grrr

where's digweed playing?
DaveT
Ruby Skye.

Any idea what made them book it for a Wed?
It really frustrating to have the Spundae party on weird nights... Why not book it at the Warfield again, (which was AWESOME) and have it on a weekend??
DaveT
I have no clue. And what I'm going to say is all on me, and nothing to do with anyone or any group I may be associated with...

First, Bjorn answered this much better than I can in a thread awhile back.

It could be a number of reasons like he was unavailable for the weekend date, Ruby was unable or unwilling to outbid other venues around the country for the weekend or maybe it's (and extension of the outbidding in) that those in power know the club could make nearly as much (aka. selling out) doing it on a Wednesday night versus doing it on the weekend, with the DJ usually being much cheaper and thus increasing their profits a good bit. It's business.

As a fan, things like that suck. But in the end, it really is a business and they have to make business decisions....supposing that's ever a reason.

I'm not too pleased with the Wednesday date either, given that I will be driving down from San Jose for this, but I can see Ruby's reasoning. Armin can sell out Ruby Skye any day of the week and I assume his weekend booking dates are a lot more expensive than bringing him in on a weekday. I've never attended a weekday party before at the Skye but, from what I hear, weekday gigs only bring out the real fans and not just casual clubbers so it makes for a much better vibe.

this is all correct. A lot of people think promoters/venues can book djs and any night. Totally wrong. There are a lot of... take a guess... politics involved. AvB is an expensive mofo. spundae/ruby are probably able to book him on Wednesday b/c it's cheaper PLUS their long standing relationship.

personally... i'd be looking forward to Digweed on Saturday night :)
