Just wanting to see if anyone knows any good trance sample packs other than vengence ones. Im trying to find the perfect kick for my latest track and layering isn't working for me. I've had the Vec1,2&3 packs for a while now and I want to see if theres anything different.

Anyone got any recommendations??

(mainly looking for kicks, but if you know any sample packs that conatain anything else and you highly recommend it, then share that too.)

Cheers,

MH

i was just asking, if you dont have any suggestions, then dont post. isnt it a waste of time to just go around posting like this??

pay your dues like... he doesn't deserve any proper advice? basically, he has certain sample packs and has been auditioning a bunch of them to fit his bassline which sounds decent, instead of wasting time layering. but after about 30 or so samples his ears get a little toast.

Ubershall trance, the vengeance trance sample packs are a good start. others here will definitely have other and possibly better suggestions. also, shortening the kick can also let the bassline come through quite a bit better since some kicks in those sample packs have very long tails if you just insert them raw the way they are.

meriter, don't be such a dick. i started in this forum when i was 17 and i sure as hell didn't let some guy who has only been hanging around here 2 years talk to me the way you are trolling this kid, and there were plenty of helpful people back then, so give us a break please with your lame ass attitude.

not too good with math are you

Honestly you think the samples are the problem... like the most popular sample pack in the world is unusable. It's not about the samples it's about learning how to process them correctly. Tuning compression layering ect. There's no reason he shouldn't be able to work with what he has.

Wave Alchemy

They've got free sample packs to try out. All samples are 100% original (i.e., not ripped from other tracks), made with high quality gear, great prices, etc.

Also, "like" them on their FB page and every Friday they give away a couple of discount codes. There may still be one available from earlier today.

And, don't forget that they have 2 free Club Kicks sample packs:

...and a bunch of other free packs:

That should keep you busy for awhile. :)

Meriter, at least the kid has some heart for his age.
I'm 29, and started producing 6 months ago. I wish I would have started when I was in my teens. I dicked around with Fruity Loops 10 years ago but never put 2+2 together that I could actually learn this stuff, due to life happening. :( No regrets though as it's what I want to do with all of my possible free time now to get as good as possible. I'm striving for excellence, which may be where your comment comes from, but someone that young might not have the intellectual shield to shrug off an ill comment that doesn't have an underlying point.

Back to the OP: DanceMidiSamples has a Psy kicks pack for like $7 that I really like a lot of the kicks from.

Though, It would help a bit to know more about what kind of kick you're trying to come up with? What are you going for Mike? I assume you're familiar with Bazzism?

[S]Crypto[/S] ...Cryo: Thanks for the links to the free packs. It's nice to see a free batch of samples that isn't something thrown together by a random person containing 90% samples I already have, and 9% of the remaining samples which suck.

Meh sure he does, and there was nothing ty about my comment. Learning to work with what you have will only help you get better

I started producing in my teens as well and when I needed a kick I'd break out the mic and start banging on . There was no cookie-cutter sample available that just happened to fit in with my track perfectly

Okay I have to admit the vengeance samples are but still.. this is one of those topics that could be solved with about 5 minutes of googling

You have highlighted an issue where perfectionism definitely can hold someone up.

I'm a perfectionist and it's something I have to work to balance between making something that suits my taste which hasn't happened yet, and quantity.

if you want real advice about finding the right kick, make it the last thing you add to your track

crush your track into commercial volume and then go about finding a kick that sits well in the mix

you'll most likely find that after a bit of processing any of those vangeance kicks will work fine once you've slammed your track up against the brick wall
