Ever since I started producing, the one thing that I can remember that I could never get right is those huge sounding ARP's. I know that most people on this forum don't like it when the moment someone has any problem, they just scream for help. Well I can assure you that I hve spent hours and hours over the last year trying to work out how to do it and I just cant.
The type of ARP that I'm wanting to have is something like the one in "Walk The Edge" by Alex M.O.R.P.H. I want it to be big and epic, but whenever I try to do that, all I get is a whole load of white noise and all the other sounds become blocked out.
So if anyone can help me by maybe giving some presets that are good to use or something like that, that'd be great.
(I have Nexus, Sylenth with a lot of soundbanks, and all default FL plugins)
Cheers,
MH
Best that you put this on high quality cos it is one hell of a kick ass song.

literally just about a year to this day. maybe one year ago + 1 0r 2 weeks..
Looney4Clooney
is it a music issue or a sound issue. the fact that you call them ARP makes me wonder if you are actually using the arp function which is something nobody does. They program all the notes.

Welcome to at least four more years of frustration before you put something out that anyone actually wants to listen to. Seriously.

either post notation or the audio. I don't read midi. The synths are always layered. Perhaps you should try listening to the earlier stuff and see where all these guys stole their ideas from. The example you posted is just two synths , one straight out super saw and the other one to fill in and provide a counterpoint to widen the stereo image.

i dont really get what your problem is. Is the sound itself? You dont get the supersaw right? Or is it the melody or the placement of the tones that is bugging you?

I made this a while back. It might help. It was a rough recreation of another track I did for somebody else, but you might find it useful.
I just listened to the track and programmed in the midi, it's not difficult.

It's the sound that I couldnt get right. when i put its cutoff and sustain up, it just goes generally bad no matter what preset i use. I cant get that epic feel that i want..
Im sorry if i havnt explained it very well, its kinda hard to..

Thanks for this, I had no idea that the bottom notes were supposed to be excluded from the automating.
I'll give this a shot. Cheers :)

Well they're not supposed to be or not, I just did because I didn't want low frequencies running through a long reverb. You could leave them in and just run a hi pass over the reverb send instead.
The reality is that a year is nothing in terms of making music. Give it another couple of years and it starts getting a bit easier. :p
