depends on how you are djing
sound quality isn't really the issue but pros and cons in practicality. |

+1
I'd say wav, but wav's are so big... Flac has the same quality and is half the size. |

| 320kbps is enough if i get a wav file i burn it to a cd but i don't buy wavs nor i care that much , if you are playing in a club 99% of people won't notice if your A track is a 320kbps mp3 and your B track is a 192kbps. |

I actually disagree.
Although I might be getting the wrong end of the stick. People won't notice (as they don't give a about quality).
But if you're playing in a club it's more important to have a good quality track as a club system will often show up the lack of detail or increase the harshness of a e quality mp3.
Obviously the club needs a semi decent sound system and not just your local club with an aging system that isn't serviced.
Anyway if you were referring to whether people care then the above is blah blah blah.. :) |

| the problem with flac is that if your computer crashes, well i'm not really up to date with the latest but i'm pretty sure most cdjs don't support flac. And as a dj, you should play expecting your computer to crash because it will. |

but sound quality really is a non factor. 320 and wav in a club setting are just not distinguishable. Most do use mp3 ? I wonder if mp3s introduce more processing or latency ? The times i've used traktor, i've found it really ing buggy and this is using an RME interface and SSD drive. I used wave because i was djing a wedding and i warped everything so that i could drunk proof the beatmatching.
I always thought the reason they don't implement vst , and au support is because the program is already a mess. Maybe i'm wrong, but they have the code to do it. And i don't think the reason is because 50% of djs would of been candidates for the T4 program. |

I forgot about this thread. Not all the clubs will do this in my experience i don't know which kind of processing does this and which not but generally the most noticeable thing is the lack of "volume" if you compare A/B. But yeah i was referring more to the fact that nobody except some rare edm heads care. |
