you actually brought up a good point about the spammers. but there should still be a better method. like keeping the person active. i mean... how many views are they actually getting? other then our trolling :) |

Just curious as to whom you speak of in regards to that? I'm not saying you're calling out myself or Josh, but I'm curious who you are referencing since I don't dive on a lot of threads.
Actually, truth be told, I honestly pay little attention to event threads and just read the titles. If they interest me or have a good artist that's worth chatting about, I dive into conversation whether I go or not. Of course, that's all opinion based; personal preference and all.
That being said, I'm pretty sure most of us here started out by lurking and chatting about one event or another and then got to know more people. The spam can be controlled, but its always good to have an open door to a new promoter who is trying to bring someone new or less well known. "Paying" to post doesn't seem right to me - this market is hard enough to pull in isn't it? |

This thread has been a long time coming. All of your points were valid, Billy, and I'd be for any of the suggestions being enacted. I've said it time and time again here -- most of that stuff doesn't even belong here on TA. If somebody wants to become part of the community and then post events with which he's affiliated, I wouldn't even mind if they were heavy metal shows.
Contributing nothing and then posting dubstep or bottle service events is another thing entirely. The only person on here who goes to those parties is bigperf, and he doesn't even go for the music. He just goes to validate his sense of self-worth through free or discounted admission; entry isn't really free at all for him though, as his soul is on the chopping block!!
Also, I'll vote for DJWoddy as a supplementary Mod if and only if he includes the following in his platform: "I shall notify TAs of where allll them fine latin hunnies be at through the use of event threads."
Whatever happens, we need some better threads up in this bitch. |
