how to take midi data from a "midi" track and route it to multiple channels/instruments in Ableton?
Teezdalien
Why the hell do you insist with questions asking how to make thing more complicated than they need to be?

Simply copy the midi clip/data into whatever midi channel your instruments are on.. jesus.
Zombie0729
on the other midi tracks set the input to the channel w/ the actual midi on it. not hard.

I was just checking..

In clip mode
Ctrl+C
Ctrl+v
Ctrl+z
Lolo
group the instruments into an instrument rack.

you can also have separate channels getting their midi exclusively from another one playing your midi. But there's a downside, you'll have midi positive or negative delays all the way.

I will not start another war on here, but Ableton Live really really needs a lot of fixes now.

It crashes on every plug-in window closing here.

damn... that's bad. I have crashes once in a while, but not that often and even I'm sick of it crashing, although I haven't updated from 8.2.6 yet.
I started using Cubase recently which I'm liking a lot.

I've tried to get on with Live on several occasions, and each time I did it was an appalling mess.

I have no idea how anybody battles with it's deficiencies.

I havent used Live but did get the free version with SoundCloud. Is it stable enough if you just want to use it for megamixes rather than producing?

I got the free version (or Lite, whatever it is) with my soundcard and it won't even get passed scanning VSTs without crashing.

Have to say that 8.3 is quite bad - almost once a session it will just crash for no apparent reason
Im hoping thats why 9 is taking so long in that they are making sure its much much more stable - i couldnt give a about new features as long as its stable

It may be because of cracked plugins.
