Yeah but that isn't what your ISP/gvt is going to think. It's a Kinda guilty by association thing "youre not a drug buying child pornographer assassin, yet you seek out venues where this is the main activities."
it's a 'you go to a shopping mall to shop, you go to gym to work out' logic that is going to be hard to fight back unless you have legitimate reasons for being there, and there are very few.
not that tor users are being targetted by governments, yet at least, recent law proposals have been broad and ed up enough to at least raise an alert imho. |
ssh tunnels over tor... course then they'll just go for anyone who has encrypted data going over their pipes (well not likely since that would ruin e-commerce). |

theyll still see that youre running 'unconventional' network traffic = cyber terrorist = detained 4 lyfe yo |

SSH traffic pretty much looks like any other encrypted traffic such as HTTPS, and the number of people using HTTPS on a daily basis is rather massive, probably everyone in the world who uses the internet is using HTTPS at least once or twice a day. |

yeah but has no bearing on the subject whatsoever. when you're running it through tor it's gonna be easily identifiable as tor data. |

Does "TOR data" itself have anything distinctive about it compared to other encrypted traffic? I would think that the destination IPs of the data would be what gave it away (namely, the IPs of TOR servers).

traffic analysis of stuff like strings, packet length and freq of the packets' sending time will give it away.
but yah, according to this guy, the easiest way to block tor traffic is to block it from reaching tor exit nodes. you can also intercept alot of stuff there too, so it's not safe by any means. just safer than regular internets. |

If you really want to bulletproof your computer you should consider Deep Freeze
http://www.faronics.com/enterprise/deep-freeze/
...and set aside a part of your computer for write access and leave the OS in a virgin state. There is an insane amount of software out there with backdoors and other that gets silently installed. Sad but true. |

I've hacked those before. It's not that hard, you just need to bypass the electrical lock gates and the NAT controller and yoǘre basically in. Although you'll need to some filing and fluttering once you're in, but it's definitely crackable. |
