Seandroid - Sawblade (did a whole mess of work on this!)

Listen close on the entrance to the build, you'll notice I made the main lead synth turn into a dubstep wobble. It's neat :)

I hope someone here can appreciate it lol.

Erm, is it meant to sound like three different tracks? I mean the drop has nothing to do with either the intro and the buildup whatsoever.

Usually with my tracks I take an A, B, A + B approach to the structure, so I understand how you feel that way as it's only a WIP and only the first drop, the second drop will combine elements of both halves.

I might like to hear a little foreshadowing of the lead in the first section (maybe just a faint preview of the pad sidechained with the kick). I'd also like to hear perhaps a closed high-hat come in (maybe right where this demo ends) to give it a little bit more drive and energy. Overall, though, I like it.

the drop is the intro without the vowel lead :D
the beat is just a full cut and paste from before the break, but since this is WIP, i'm sure Sean will take a look at that later on

Sean, if anything, there is a weird "rattle" in the background on your lead it's makes things sound a bit like a broken speaker, not sure if that's appealing or intentional. it's the layered buzz (or filter opening, not sure what i hear) you can hear it most clear at 1.03 -1.05, for me VERY anoying at that point :D

Before i even pushed play i knew what sound was gonna play exactly! lol

Your sound selection is getting really predictable, not that they sound bad or anything. Just an observation.

That's actually the lead morphing into a dubstep wobble hahaha. It pitches down 2 octaves, removes the detune & some of the distortion on the lead, as well as the resonance, pulls back the white noise a little bit and begins to wobble.

Yeah, I was thinking about teasing the lead too :) Thanks for the feedback man!

Haha, I don't think it's that predictable, or any more predictable than most artists. You kind of have to develop a style and your sound selection is really all you have in dance music. Joe blow's not going to pay attention to the structure. I did create every sound you hear specifically for this track though. I try not to use saved patches often.

Regardless, thanks for checking it out :)

Sean not sure we're talking about the same thing. I don't mean the sound itself, but the sort of noisy clicky artifact behind it. most clear to be heard between 1.03 and 1.05

Oh, yeah, that's actually the white noise being affected by the distortion, it sounds great on the high end. I just need to pull it back more when the octaves drop, I noticed that too.

check! that's it. Further a real Seandroid track. I'm fan if you don't go too harsh, but you know that.

some sick tuneage

The clap sounds a bit awkward, I think a more traditional snare would work better.

edit: sounds like you push the clap forward...still think it sounds awkward
