It's just that "nice" people seem to have this attitude that, because they're "good" people they're exempt from the same criticism that everyone else is. right off.

Yeah, I never trust it, either. Seems to me the perfect ruse to get away with whatever you want, instead of being genuine of your own volition. Empathy ought to be its own reward, but people use it to be manipulative, too.

I've certainly seen the latter behaviour far more often than the former.

I guess it depends if everyone else is criticised for not being nice.

Flippancy aside, I agree. Someone who's always nice seems disingenuous, and their niceness doesn't have any weight to it. If someone is capable of being an absolute prick, their kind words carry more meaning because you know they're actually genuine, rather than merely polite.

I just mean criticism in general. Any kind. Nice people are always all like "But I'm SO NICE! How can anyone say that/think that about me??"

I hate nice people, lol. Grow a in pair.

i think your issue is with people with low self esteem that are more co dependent on other people thinking they are good people that actual nice people. BIg difference.

There are some genuinely nice people; however, they tend not to be the annoyingly nice people.

Apparently, I intimidate people at my office... seriously... I don't get it.
