I disagree that it's moronic.
I take it you didn't enjoy (if you saw it) the classic South Park episode "Douche & Turd"?
As long as the lobbyists are allowed to basically run their pimp/mob business ("Hey, we're going to give you all this money if you do this & this, so we get even more money!"), there's never going to be any point in voting.
Voting blank might be the most sensible thing to do for people who dislike their government.
/I don't really give a tho. USA is a beautiful country, it has great culture and businesses, but ultimately, the system is just too ed.
I'm not saying that the system isn't ed up, but for people to just sit there and say "I can't be bothered" is completely stupid, and perhaps a greater crime than those running the charade. There are plenty of movements out there dedicated to sorting out this BS. And the vote says, that if you don't like what person A does, you can kick them out. If you sit at home, and person A gets coted back in 'cos you didn't get off your ass to show them the door, then I don't think you have a right to complain. If you do vote, but they still get back, then yes, you can and should complain.

No. Because people DIED and fought to keep the vote. If you don't like voting, you can always go and live in North Korea. They don't bother to vote, either. If you think they're puppets, then it's your duty to try and stop that, either by forming your own representation, or supporting other independent candidates. At the very least, go and spoil your ballot paper. But just to sit at home nd say "I can't be bothered" absolutely riles me, and in my opinion, people who do this have absolutely ZERO right to complain.
So what about people that put on a uniform and serve their country, who decide that voting doesn't make a difference?
Should they be shunned, all while still putting on a uniform and doing what they think is in the best interest of defending "democracy"?
You have the right to vote, as much as the right not to vote.
Forcing people to vote is as much of an impediment to an peron's freedoms and liberties as not allowing them to vote. Sure, you can bring up North Korea, but this is the USA, fool.
America is all about choice, and that is why we are the GOAT.

This is where it all begins and ends in this country.
No need in giving a about politics as long as this continues to go on, unless you're ready to revolt on some Weathermen Underground type .

Ah, see my edit. I think we're mostly in agreement :)

"Democracy" . Oh, is that what they're calling this? :stongue:
Last time I checked this was a Corporatocracy, at best. Moreover, in order to start your own movement, especially a disestablishmentarian one within the States, you have to be prepared to die, or at the very least have your life completely ruined, because you will inevitably be targeted.
Voicing the fact that you've lost faith in the system is (supposedly) part of what makes this country what it is. We're allowed to say almost whatever we want here, but unless we're backed by the right group's money we're immediately snuffed out when attempting to take legitimate action toward our cause if it goes against the larger agenda of the powers that be.
Unless you've got balls of steel, opting-out is probably your best option if you're unhappy here, and even then, our government's influence is so overarching that your escape may only be temporary.

democracy and politics does not allow evolution to occur. nature will get rid of humanity once it ceases to evolve.

Voting is for suckers and people who try to start "movements" may as well be wearing clown shoes because that's about how seriously anybody is going to take them. So I guess you should just throw your hands up in the air and go cry about how unfair it all is, right?
Wrong. You're playing the game completely wrong and then whining about losing. It's the adult version of being that kid who always gets his ass kicked in a video game and then whines about how the way the other players owned them was "cheap" or "lame." Maybe it's time to accept that it's your pigheadedness that's holding you back; that if you can't beat them, you should join them.
If you think corporations run the country: great, you're right. Guess who runs corporations? People. You want to really make a difference? Quit acting like a hippy and make yourself one of those people. There are tons of paths to positions of leadership in the corporate world. Some people get there by entrepreneurship and industriousness; others are slick and studious MBA-types who've learned to ace both an interview and an exam; others still are just great social engineers who can network, schmooze, and manipulate their way to the top. Those are only a few examples, and you can mix and match skills to find success, too. Anybody--or, at least, anybody smart and talented enough that you'd ever want them to have any kind of political influence--can do it if they put their mind to it.
Like it or not, that's how the game is actually played. If you want to make a difference and that's not what you're doing, then you have nobody to blame but yourself. It's not the evil corporate bogeymen, the corrupt politicians, the inept media, or the insidious K Street lobbyists who are at fault, it's you--and only you. You can either accept that, adjust your behavior, and maybe make a difference some day, or you can keep whining, pointing fingers, and dreaming about some pie-in-the-sky revolution and resign yourself to deserved irrelevance. The choice is yours.

humans dont have a game. assumptions, propaganda, money, fake realities, illusions, delusions are not to be considered a game worth playing. only retards would conform to playing stupid vs stupid vs stupid and ignorant vs stupid and ignorant and retarded. when nature decides to play its game, the only real game, all the money in the world, is not going to save you, or anyone else.
