i know in the past, agents put 1 silly request on the rider to make sure the people that booked them actually are reading every single line of the rider/contract.

Some of these aren't as bad as some of the ones I've read in the past. Not nearly. Some of the bigger DJs there aren't as bad as I expected.

I would be surprised if most DJs really cared about safety like Van Halen was...

What surprises me is how much Vodka+Red Bull these guys apparently drink. They almost all demand it.

If I was drinking that 3-4 nights a week, my career would probably be over in like 2 months. :p

You guys think the Aoki rider is weird?
Wait until you see the DJ Luxor one.

1. props to nero for having humility.

2. you guys should check out REAL rockstar riders. DJs are mostly wannabe's at this point - iggy pop has the gold standard of riders.

One thing I don't see in most of the riders in Flight tickets. Does anyone know if most DJs require first class? or coach ok?

flights are booked by the agency

as noted by Billy, the agency (or sometimes the dj themselves) books the flights and bills the venue/promoter.

Nowadays, most big djs require first class/business class as part of the contract.

If they are on a multi-date tour, what they do is add up the total costs of all flights and then allocate it to each venue/promoter they are playing for.
