They need to change the name of the genre. The music they label as trance hasnt put anyone in a "trance" since before the dutch got a hold of the germans last great gift to mankind.
Trance is a bad term not because people dont make good trance music, but because the bad trance is just so downright awful and cheesy it makes anyone with any semblance of taste cringe and worry about being associated with the entire genre.

If you're referring to stuff like this, I agree.
Disagreed on the dutch statement though.

Dont dislike dutch trance, some of it is fantastic, but to me its not really trance or what i think of as trance ie classic german trance, LSG, Eye Q Records, MFS, pre OTAB PVD, The KLF, Humate, etc.

If you are referring to the track by Armin I posted then I agree. And also stuff like. How the are these records even trance? Hell I much preferred it when Ian van Dahl was tagged as trance back in the days after hearing these tracks.

Yeah, the quality of those tracks + Platipus Records is much higher than that of Dutch Trance.
Actually, 3 songs are up there, but I don't know if they are classified as "dutch trance":
Delerium - Silence (Tiesto Remix)
Tiesto - Suburban Train
Jahn Johnston - Flesh (Tiesto Remix)

I don't know what you would officially call W&W (tunes listed above for example) but I in' dig it. Especially at the club.
Things get difficult with genres... I agree that there needs to be some sort of separation with the new stuff labeled as trance and the older so-called 'real' trance. Would make it easier for all the fanatics out there. But I mean... the new stuff, as well as the old stuff (both that I thoroughly enjoy)... puts me in a trance, just different kinds. Hence the argument for a different label.

They are just electro noise that's what they are. This trance 2.0 has nothing to do with trance because it totally detracts from the roots and how it started. Composition wise its the worst piece of I've heard in my life. Anyone who embraces this is just a bandwagon jumper a sheep. Most of the being released on Anjunabeats under this ridiculous trance 2.0 style just sounds like most of their recent releases and mostly all electro house tracks and the same thing with Armada.
I think labelling is important, why do you think Consumer products are labelled it gives the buyer which products to buy or not to buy. Just label this as something else and Armin should stop calling himself a trance dj.

And you listen to electro house so you can say this?
Edit: That W&W Moscow track is bull by electro house standards. Just sayin'. What I want to say is that this trance scene is the most ed up one of all of EDM, IMO.

Well unfortunately here in Australia Electro house dominates and I tend to hear it everywhere unfortunately. Ahem have you heard the from Afrojack and Steve Aioki both of them make the biggest piles of and W&W are inspired by these guys.
W&W have nothing to do with trance its only stupid armin van buuren who think they do.
