Yes, let's just ask the newborns if they want to be circumcised or not. Brilliant idea. |
That's not really feasible. Which is kind of the point. In the absence of any good medical reason to force somebody to undergo a painful operation, it shouldn't be done. Why should this principle hold for adults but not for children? Just because religions say so? |

| It's not a religious practice in many cases. It's a hygienic practice. Regardless, it's the parents' choice in the absence of them giving birth to an 18 year old baby. And it's not a painful procedure. |

| hygiene ? really. If you wash your penis, you will be fine. Perhaps 200 years ago, maybe it was an issue. Hygiene is not a reason. It is mutilation. It serves no purpose. ANd as a kid, it is boring to play with. there is nothing to pull. I mean i'm thinking back in the tub was toddler and i mean face it that skin was fun to pull and play with. My uncle showed me some cool things you could do. |

Cutting a piece of a baby's penis off without anesthetic (or with ineffective anesthetic) isn't painful? I'd like to see any kind of reputable study to back that up. Got one? |

| If your child had a grotesque facial deformity would you have it removed? Or would you cry that the procedure would be painful and serve no real medical purpose? |

Nope.
How is that analogy in any way relevant? Try coming up with a cogent argument instead. I know you can do it! |

| Maybe bloodletting comes free with circumcision these days. I hear leeches are all the rage. |

| If the procedure was as barbaric as you all make it out to be (it's not) then why would doctors perform the procedure? |
