Jules currently on fire!

Well as everyone probably knows on the forum, jules is the man IMO.
I have seen him live many times, and he has just got better and better.
Remember listening to his live shows he did on radio1 from venues around the country with the radio1 stage, and he was amazing back in 99/2000
I think everyone would say he had lost the appetite for dking in 2001, and then lost his residancy to eddie halliwell. I think this is wot gave him a kick up the arse.
He has progressed a lot from that stage, and now has got the consistancy, playing sets that go from rather mild trance like the opera song (which im still not sure about) to tracks like "fuct camera"
So he seems to have worked out his track selection, instead of being very random, and his mxing is pritty much spot on.
So i am seeing jules as much as possible, loving his track selection, which is pritty unique, and always have loved the tunes he played.
Just wondered if anyoen had seen him live recently, and wot they think.
And dont comment on wot set u have downloaded, or when u heard his radio show, as it is really very different, when u have jules messing around, and the crowd loving it.
So go on start flaming, this is wot usually happens in a jules thread :p

Saw Jules last month @ the suga shack. The set was e and way to hard (It was alright after a few lagers though, shouldent have to be like that though). Judge Jules was the best DJ in the world in 2000 and the very early stages of 2001, but he whent from uplifting trance/trance to Hard house/Hard cheesy trance. I will always listen to Jules because i still have faith that he might calm down and start playing sets like his old ones but as far as im concerned now, he didnt impress me the other week when i saw him but i still have my arms open for him because he might possibly calm down abit, the he plays live now nocks me sick though.
I cant complain about his mixing because i think he is a very good mixer but then again, how can you trainwreck whilst mixing hard house, he he :D No seriously he is a good mixer, just look at his old sets like Notingham, Aberdeen, Newcastle.
Jules shouldent have switched styles man, he was sooo good back in the day, i put it down to him losing his friday night show wich got me into trance in the first place, so i will always respect Jules and check him out when he is near me live.
I also must add i have stuck up for the man for the last two years when mates have dissed him and tranceaddicts have flamed him but it has got to the stage now were i wouldent get involved in a flame over jules, doesnt mean that much to me now, the j in jules doesnt even desverve a capital letter, he he. |

I would enjot it even if he played one or two pure trance stormers each set but its not the case, he started with hard house finished with hard house, or hard trance if you like :(
I take it Bonzai stopped sending him promos, Jules even said it was the best label ever, pitty he doesnt play anything from it any-more :( |

He did last weekend at godskitchen, i have never seen him spin hard house.
But his sets now go from uplifting trance to hard trance, and a bit of techno :)

I am not dissing him man, he is a good man but he is past the peak of his carea, He was amazing now he is just a DJ who plays Hard Trance, wich i do not love so i dont listen to him as much as i use too. |

Ummm well Jurgen Vries - The Theme was played by jules a long time before any other DJ, and if you saw wot reaction it got, you woudl realise it was far from cheese.
Unfortunatly then it came out on promo, and eveyone had it, and it got over played, and then everyone goes from saying it is an amazing track, to cheese.

bonzai are still sending him promos of everything.
he's still into the harder edged stuff...like yves deruyter - calling earth 2002 and he still gets 'green martian' remixes done. he probably just feels there are too many people playing that sound at the moment and wants to be individual in his sets. its a pity because it now leaves Dave Pearce as the only outlet for general trance on radio 1 and he plays very few upfront tracks each week. radio 1 need to sort out a full on trance dj to do a show like ASOT i reckon... |

i saw him yesterday at brussels is burning. his set was awesome! i expected a hard set as well, but it turned out to be a melodic stormer.
at one point he dropped y-traxx - mysteryland, that was just pure bliss!
hope he comes back to belgium soon... |
