NYE 2012 Electronic Countermeasures (Acid/Rave)

A mix that I forgot to put up earlier in the year that was recorded late Dec 11 for a sketchy 'acquaintance' mucking around with his pirate radio station on the harbour on new years.
Basically, he got a yacht, put all the gear in it, hoisted the antennas at 10pm and blew about 50w up it from 10pm to 4am before the amps crapped out, this was the 10:30-12 set... an anachronism in this day and age (bit like this mix come to think of it) of quasi-legal web broadcasting and the like. I didn't go anywhere near this, plus the people running it are 'extremely weird', I hate boats and didn't want to get sunk. :haha:

Thought I'd put it up if people wanted to reminisce with that peculiar analogue sound of techno made by addled lunatics, for really drug addled lunatics running around in 'borrowed' warehouses, often live recordings and a lot of it never really gained any widespread distribution.
That "90's underground sound" is fairly much dead now, but if you've never heard it then this is about as close to the real deal as I can find in my collection.
For the newer generations of electronic dance music fans raised on dubstep, house, what passes for trance and other stuff, this should badly ruin your brains.

Woony
Gave this a listen. Enjoyed the first 50 mins, after that it got too fast for my taste :toothless
Lilith
I will give it a 145-176bpm warning label in the future :D
Actually I did a slower mix some time ago of 120-130bpm range but I don't think it got listened to and mostly abandoned the idea of doing it every again.
(Personally I think it hangs together better after about the 45min mark to the end and is a bit more musically diverse with some breaks and weird indi-acid)

Stu is either dead by now from a room-rave misadventure or crawling the streets looking for drugs wondering why he ever gave them up in the first place :o
