hey guys,

if you had to pick one song (in your opinion) that best describes where trance music is at in 2012, which would it be?

Try to be as honest as possible, regardless of what songs anyone else chooses.

thanks,

I don't have any idea, honestly, as I haven't followed trance regularly for years. But I'll be interested to see what people post in here.

Never thought I'd like a track by the Schulz :). This one is pretty banging although I'd almost put it under house haha.

not by schulz, just a misleading image of him since it's ripped from his radio show. its by ummet ozcan released by Spinnin, and it's definitely a cross of a few genres. it reminds me of the tech trance coming out in like 04-05, except slower in bpm

Gotta represent some down to earth going down from Airwave, Timewave, Joof, Solar fields. If i want to listen to some cheesey , i'd rather stick to some older trance tracks that i remember, because i dont keep track of that ; hell my trance consumption is not very high. your song. Also, why isnt this in music discussion?

Cool topic. I think the current state of trance is not very trance-like, at all. In that the sounds don't put you in a "trance" anymore, instead all the synths are very punchy and have a lot of staccato. Supersaw isn't dead by anymeans, but it is changing.

trouse is a made up musical genre coined by the same #trancefamily plague of people

anyone who actively uses trouse, tags #trancefamily, claims they slay unicorns and whatever other ridiculous statement referring to any kind of edm is just a sheep following trends

/end rant

Many would define it as such, and is thus my point. Trance is merging with other genres.
