| I'm surprised there isn't a thread for this. Anyone else excited about the Higgs Boson breakthrough and any other news that may follow? |

| quote: | | Stephen Hawking described the discovery of the Higgs as Nobel Prize-worthy, but also, “a pity in a way, because the great advances in physics have come from experiments that gave results we didn’t expect.” Adam Mann described the problem this way recently on Wired.com: “The Higgs boson is starting to look just a little too ordinary.” Read more http://www.newyorker.com/online/blo...l#ixzz1zoxJt5ox |

Assuming GOD is an acronym, as there's no other reason the whole word should be capitalised, I'd like to say that glucose oxi-dase particles are really awesome. They prompt for stronger dough in bakery, replacing oxidants such as bromate, and they also help remove oxygen from food packaging, or D-glucose from egg white to prevent browning.
And that's not even half the things GOD particles can do! |
It's capitalized as to not offend Christians by putting it in . quotations mark.. It's supposed to be pronounced in a ghosty kind of way; The GOoOoOD Particle. It helps if you accompany it with a limp-wristed jazz-hands. |

Yes, I am. It truly is/will be one of the greatest accomplishments in physics.
Now change the ing thread title, it's NOT the 'God Particle', nor has it ever been referred to as such in the scientific community. It's a Higgs Particle, or Boson, if you actually know what Bosons are  |

Not professionally, no.
I sometimes regret not taking that route, though :( |
