This guy at work brought this into the staff room today and started reading it without any hint of self-awareness. I said "Why the are you reading that?" and he said "Everyone's talking about it, so I thought I might as well."

Needless to say, this kid is an absolute ing dolt.

Is it about (a) linguistics, (b) philosophy, (c) the angst inflicted upon humanity by the human condition, or (d) zombies attacking the black-belt karate fighting bourgeoisie? If not, I'm pretty sure I'm not part of the target audience :p

Did you read John dies at the End yet?

I know you started, but not that you finished it. :o
And I remember your claim that you could write something like that, but never saw any proof of that. :p

Oh, I completely forgot about that! :p

Indeed, I guess it's only fair I put my mouth where my money is. Just wait for your very own "Socrates kind of faints somewhere in the middle, we're not quite so sure" :D

Utter tripe bull written by a late 40-something fat housewife.

Just screen capped this from facebook... She went to my high school and was actually extremely nice. Still, I weep for the future.

So I have this idea for a book:

It's about a woman in her early 30s, she's a successful businesswoman, strong, independent, yet her life feels empty. Then she meets this guy, rich, powerful and mysterious, and falls madly in love with him. He introduces her to BDSM but soon starts abusing her, hitting, insulting, eventually forces her to quit her job. She is now completely dependent on him, moves to his mansion and does nothing but household chores all day, learns to be humble, etc. In the end she learn her place is in the kitchen and below a man, and that finally makes her happy and fulfilled.

I wonder if one could pull that off. Would Twilight / Fifty Shades fangirls read it? Would feminists be butthurt? That's certainly the goal, but maybe their twisted logic would have them praise it for illustrating of men oppress women and destroy their lives?
