[Tutorials] Sonic Academy

So, I'm thinking about subscribing to Sonic Academy's 3 months subscription. I've already got some experience with music production, but I feel like I can't make a good track because I lack of some important knowledge. I know that there are lots of free tutorials on Youtube etc. but all of them varies in quality, and I don't always find what I'm looking for. Thats why I thought Sonic Academy would be a good choice, because there I got most of what I should learn in one place.

I've been searching online to find what other people think about SA, but most of the forum threads are old (2008-2010). So I'm wondering if anyone has any recent experience with SA? Have they improved since 2010?

After going trough the tutorials on SA, I'm thinking about to take the sound design course on Trance Music Mastery so I'll be able to make my own sound. Anyone got experience on this as well?

Where in Norway do you live? I could probably give you a few lessons if it's not too far.

I live in Lørenskog, just 20 minutes from Oslo. If it's possible, it would be great! :) I know some producers nearby, but unfortunately most of them are quite too busy to give lessons.

I've lived in Rasta and Blystadlia (rekkehusene, ikke blokk!) so I know where Lørenskog is :P
I live in the opposite side of town, not far from Asker.
Oh and I use mainly FL Studio for production. And my fees are not too damaging to the wallet.

I actually live in Rasta, haha :) Due to personal reasons I'm kinda low on money at the moment, so I'm looking for a job etc. But we can keep in touch and maybe we can catch up one day! I can PM you my Facebook-info. Have you done any lessons before? I'm working with Ableton, but I guess the fundamentals are the same no matter which DAW you use :p

Haha, you don't happen to live in Gamleveien by any chance?
Never done any lessons for money per se, but I am a great teacher and I've learnd away more than a few tricks, to say the least.
I'm in the process of going towards a more live performance, so I'm currently learning Ableton better, but yeah. Stuff like eq'ing, compression etc. is the same in all DAWs, even if the background colours arent the same :p

I subscribed to Sonic Academy for a while, I think its really good if you are noob or pro, you get to see how different tracks are made that you might not think of and it gives you lots of idea's to work off of and great for learning basics too. Plus, if you use Ableton, well, lots of their tutorials are made for Ableton. I enjoyed it.

Well, close! Bringebærstien to be exact :)

I've listened to your tracks on myspace and I have to say that it's my kind of style! Love all that tech-stuff. Ableton is amazing for live performance, even though I've not gone in depth of that. But the the possibilities are endless.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. I want to see how tracks are made and at the same time give me idea's on how I can work with my tracks. By learning much of the basics during the process it'll probably help me to understand the whole setting a bit better as well :)
