I haven't been on here for a while seeing that I have lately been blocked by a dead wall in producing. I've now finally gotn something out and I think that its by far my best work yet.

Please leave some feedback, I need as much as possible, cheers :)

*****EDIT*****
This is the improved version of this track. It has a better kick, different piano, and most of the filter sweeping is gone.

Hey pretty good stuff. Almost seems like it has already been mastered.

I think The filter sweep towards the end is incredibly harsh. I don't think it is advisable to close off all the frequencies other than the highest. I would expirement with closing it 70-90% but not all the way as it is a tough frequency on the ears.

Also, even though are commited to making uplifting trance, I think you should add a few other elements of other genres. Just to keep it interesting and not too static.

Good progress.

Thanks, and yeah, the filter sweeps are one of the things that are a work in progress. I've been told by a couple of ppl to exchange them for a different effect, so that's one of the many things I'm working on. And I've been experimenting a bit with different styles of Trance. I have some good deeper/haunting melodies that I can make a nice track out of, so maybe sometime in the near future I'll get onto that. But for me, Uplifting Trance will always be the way to go :D

I know and I am not suggesting you not make uplifting. I am just saying adding a few different elements to an uplifting track every now and again could be cool.

I think the sweep is fine. I would just adjust it a litle. It shouldn't take a huge amount of work. Don't overthink it, just be careful with those extremely high frequencies.

Would you consider submitting a track to our next compilation in a few months?

Yeah, i know what you mean. I want to incorporate a more modern type of bassline into an uplifting track sometime soon. Like the one in Shogun's "Skyfire". I just need to learn how to do it. and yeah, that sounds great, I'd be keen

I recently heard some of Shogun's stuff (I am a casual listener to trance). Skyfire was one of the tracks. Listening to it now and it is definatly what I mean. It's uplifting but with new elements incorporated in and playable in a set general dance music. Also reminds me of Alexander Popov.

You still have work ahead (I do too). But it is important to get reinforcement when you are on the right track. I wouldn't be surprised if you got a track accepted on a top trance label within half a year to two years IF you put in a ton of work (like I suspect you have been the past year).

Also, just to clarify I meant the TranceAddict compilation; Colors II or whatever.

yeah, and i also have some melodies that have the same feel as skyfire. Do you know what the name of the type of bassline in skyfire is called?, (if it has a name...)

Really? Well then it looks like I'll definitely keep working hard, I'm determined to get somewhere of course.

And yeah, I thought so. Is this track a possibility or are you talking about another one that I make in the future?
Trancelover03591
It's kind of electro-trance bassline. It is really the standard Armada style bass for the past 2-4 years I think.

Submit this track or another one. I think this one would be safely good enough and surely you will keep improving from here. This will be a very group oriented project. Raphie the Dutchman will ultimatley make the decisions but with a lot of input. I don't think any tracks got declined last time as long as they were from regular TA members submitting before the deadline. It might be a couple months b4 the project even starts. The one thing that would help is the closer the BPM to 125-132 the better.

Alright, I'll try and find some tutorials for that then :P

and i guess I can move it down to 134?? its at 136 at the moment.

Don't change the tempo just for the sake of making it lower. But in the future making them lower has advantages for playability in DJ sets. I think quite a few uplifting type tracks are 132 bpm. In fact, Shogun - Skyfire is 132 BPM. Pretty standard now I think for trance.

Yes, there should be many many tutorials. I bet even some of the artists you like might even have tutorials. I think the Thrillseekers does tutorials. The more well-known the artist doing the tutorial the better (as a practical rule). There are a lot of bad tutorials. At least if they are heavily supported producers they can't be doing it completely wrong.

Yeah I've picked up on that, I think it's cos Trance is starting to merge a bit more with House.

And thanks, I'll check it out :)

Hey mike, big improvment from you and at long last you've goton away from overcheese sounds.

Nice all round sound and track. I agree with you 2 guys about now looking for some up to the minute details such as bassline type.

One critique here, the kick is ok but can you see it juts out of the mix and sounds too separate from it? Sound separation is what we all want, but with the provisio the sounds relate to one another. In this case the kick does not relate enough to the bass I think.

It might be you need another kick, or try weird things like putting it thru a ring mod, and and also ensuring the bass pump gels with the kik.

Personaly I find this bass / kick relationship a very hard part of production.
