We could have met in Japan Lira! But no, you had to go north when I went south.

Well with Japanese I'd always prefer to go north. Unless I they had a Brazilian.

Well, it's not like I can see snow whenever I want around here, so I just couldn't miss the opportunity of snowboarding when I went there :toothless
Lagrangian
did someone call?

I read Witten's latest paper on the categorification of Khovanov Knot Homology Invariants with relation to the Jones Polynomial this weekend. In the world of Witten we understand the 'World Volume' to consist of D-Branes which are lines/curves with endpoints (boundaries). We can play around with branes of 4 and 5 dimensions.

Think of slicing an orange in half, you would be able to see a 'veiny structure' on it's disposed surface, the Euclidean circle of the fruits' boundary is often referred to as a 'reality EUCLIDEAN condition' (observable in our real world), and in this case it can be saturated (see: BPS monopole). (I will refrain from commenting about this topic any further, as I've yet to master the material.)

I must say this came as a surprise to me, as I myself have been working steadily on a statistical system using a six dimensional model employing a 'clockwork crown graph'.

Back on topic, there's a probability that you might win the lotto, can someone show me how one can figure out the odds of winning the 'big one' this week? it's rather bleak, but an introduction to probability.

Yes, I have run into people on many vacations too. But only when it is a popular destination.

I met the girl I sat next to in class, on an island inhabited by about 40 people, way up north in the country, about 19 miles off coast. Turned out we were related.

Were you home-schooled?
Lagrangian
Ok, so here we go...

You want to know the probability of an Event occurring(!) This is an event which consists of 'possible/desirable outcomes' (or observables) and 'total # of outcomes'(!) We think of a fraction...

therefore, what is the likelihood of your lottery ticket to turn out to be an actual winner.

Here's a hint, we think of 1 event out of a total number of events.

Now what if i were to ask you, what were the chances of this universe coming into being? I can safely say, it's just like winning the lotto...chances were very slim, but the key is, that it happened. And here we are.

But there is no purpose for this universe other than a product of combinatorial chaos, no g-d given privilege(!)

So, what are the odds of winning the lotto? Try not to wiki this , use your brain dammit.

Because it's bad to copy and paste here some material from Wikipedia? :p

Lagrangian is such a troll. I know because his argument sounds exactly like the argument I used in 10th grade math doing statistics and probability. I just kept saying probability is always 50% cause either its going to happen or its not going to happen! I eventually got kicked out of the room for a week. :p
