first track of my set...i throw it on, drop the needle and start the platter...everything is gung ho

then i realize that it's on 33 and should be on 45...luckily i noticed before the sound kicked in ;)

best way to recover from this is to let it play a few beats slowly.. on a crash do some cool scrathing.. and then BOOM let it go at the proper speed :)

i guess mine is the worst then...

i was in the middle of my set... i was talking to some girl for about 15 minutes or so, and i just mixed in a really loooooong track cuz i wanted to talk with the girl a bit more... so anyway, i take the the old record off, put on a new one and find the first beat and leave it there to beatmatch it, however as i was talking to this girl, i completely forgot i didn't beatmatch the track cuz the needle was still sitting on the first beat, all the time i was thinking it was ready to be mixed in... soooo, LOL, you can imagine what happened when i started mixing in the track... :stongue: :stongue: :stongue:

I saw Mauro Picotto in a video once and he ed up a mix pretty bad, then hit some kind of safety record or some . It was a pretty sweet mix up until that point tho. I'll post the name of it friday, i'm not at home right now tho to look it up.

heh, gotta learn from DJ Tiesto: business before pleasure.

he told Rolling Stone that he shagged a girl once during a set, and still managed to put on a new record every 4 minutes or so. how the could he do that?

"uhh, uhh, ahhh, uhh. wait honey, gotta put on another track and beatmatch it."

basically Mauro just played two records at once, it was really shocking to hear something like that come out of the video. It looked like a pretty big production, w/ cameras floating around n .

Haha I saw that video, morph. He ed up real bad... I mean it was almost like he was a noob. I was pretty surprised.
djrichy

i think it was anne savage (someone from toronto verify this...they were with hybrid earlier this year at the warehouse)

anyways she was about 1/2 way through her set and this song is playing at 33rpm
i don't know what she was thinking but i guess she bumped the TT and knocked the 45 button so the track starts playing at like 190bpm hahahah
she fixed it maybe 2 seconds later...but needless to say it really ruined the flow of the set ;)

heh, did she apologize afterward or just kept mixing like nothing happened?

here's from the lass herself --

quote:

I was djing in this club where the decks were suspended by steel wires. I had stupidly high stiletto boots on and lost my balance so I tried to balance myself by grabbing onto the decks, but they swung right out and I fell about 5 feet off the stage onto the dancefloor. I was mortified and had a flashback to 1978 when my brother pushed me in a packed swimming pool with all my clothes on. To make matters worse when I got back on stage, whilst removing the boots I knocked one of the plugs out the socket and all the music went off. I didn't realise what I had done and it seemed like an eternity till someone saw the plug and got the music back on.

WHOA.
