Carl Craig sums up everything about Techno, Futurism and Detroit without ever using a single bassdrum. Also it was released on what I think is one of the must genius EPs in dance music history. How many other dance music producers have attempted to make a statement on war? How many have suceeded in making a relevant statement, without ever sounding cliché? Carl Craig said more in these four tracks than most producers say in their entire discography.

there are things about it that set it apart.
Wouldn't Sandstorm qualify for "masterpiece" status? It was pretty unique for when it was released.
I mean, most elements of the track are very different from those of standard anthem trance.

I can't believe I forgot to mention this. One of the most beautiful lounge tracks of all EDM history. A complete stroke of genius from Tom Middleton. He ate his wheaties the day that this was made!!

My middleton track above = genre defiant. Its soft, melodic, beautiful, progressive, swanky, loungey, makes me happy to be alive. It is also the best Middleton track I've ever heard by leaps and bounds. Hope that helps at least for my video clip.
