i don' see why an event that was once a gay event can't include everyone. Lots of straight people have supported gay rights and to say things like, well this dj isn't a gay dj, it all sounds a little gay. Plus, the gay will outnumber any of those straight i'm gonna get so much tang tonight when they see my gorilla dance that maybe being eye ed by a couple of 6 foot ripped gay guys will do them some good. Seems like a win win. Plus those monkeys will be on so many drugs that they would consent to pretty much anything making everyone gay for the night.
my only criticism is that ing font used to spell Evolution. I think you should scold your flyer designer. And the whole space thing future motif doesn't seem to go with the overall event but oh well. And you can't like colour the word Blue and then leave black white. I don't know. But ya, that E, i don't understand why it looks that way. ANyways, i'm sure the artistic inconsistency of the flyer will be dealt with Bronson style.
If you want me to call the person and pretend i'm Gareth's agent and that i insisted on talking to the designer or i would pull out , send me the number. I will start off with legitimate concerns and gradually turn the conversation into one where i admit that i am depressed, on a 3 day coke binge and my life sucks and just unload on this guy and start crying and turn it into therapy session where he convinces me not to kill myself. I will record the conversation of course. I can't really think of a type of payment. not interested in money. Maybe just chalk one up as an i owe you. |

you know , as perceptive as I can be in some areas, i just walked into a post reading a book on my ipad this morning. Hard to spin that one into something cool.

it is first and foremost a friendly jab at the black community
But i would say the contract with the management stipulates that they are promoted in a certain way. Gareth recently pulled out of one event because of a bunch of contract breeches one of them being flyer related which the promoter used to make him look like a dick.
And from a simple a marketing standpoint, would make sense to have the bigger names first. And since we read left to right, well depending on my current state of sobriety, it does make sense somehow and i guess blue and black rooms have traditional genres associated with them ? . I don't know much about the event as I spent my years of partying not in montreal but maybe the black room has been the more deep house room .....
what the designer should of done is used colours to de-mark the rooms instead of words so that this inconsistency that nobody would or should notice would would fit with the marketing aspect. |
