That's a shame, his podcast Tyatanium Sessions is usually filled with trance bangers, and his next single looks to be awesome. wtf? stop this .

Sean Tyas playing electro?

I had heard this prior to last night and was hoping it wouldn't be true... but from 100 to 230ish it was true to a t.

I did read Ryan Tyas and Mark Etesun were great B2B.

Unfortunately... I did not stay there to see him. I have never left an event out of sheer boredom, last night was a first. Sean came on at 100 and basically played almost all electro-style sounds until I left around 245. It kinda-maybe-sorta sounded like he was turning more into trance as I was leaving, but I was too far gone in terms of my vibe to really care. Whomever was on before him I wasn't too fond of either, too housey. I did not catch Lucas PM's opening set so I can't comment.

Saw a lot people there too... placed was PACKED. Met Thomas Datt, bumped into Rory, Eco was there, a few other locals. Crowd was very odd, I didn't expect it to be so packed. A few older couples, lots of people dressed like it was Lavo, a good amount of Pacha-type dbags, then the usual glovers and whatnot.

I wish I could make the Rory James show tonight... BIG special guest going to be there tonight. Guess I have to look forward to Richard Durand and Daniel Kandi to redeem next week.

Feel good that I missed out on this, but feel very bad for Sean and Trance, in general. If there ever was a real axis of evil it would have to be electro, trouse, and dubstep. Any of those three genres usually saps my vibe at any party, be they trance or raves, or makes me think twice about going to a given party, if I see or hear of it anywhere on a line-up. And I had wanted to go to this since Aly and Fila/JOC, but just did not feel like going out on Friday. Damn, and Sullivan was not only crowded but had some negative-vibe people?! Still have not gone since it re-opened, but maybe it was for the best so as not have had a negative memory of the venue, in its new incarnation.

That may have been my parents, aunts and uncles who came out. They got looks from a lot of people that night but hey, they wanted to just support Sean and I, so I give them credit. My rents even stayed for like half my set (til about 3:45!) hahaha.

That being said, I know a lot of people criticize Sean's set for being too electro, but I think the energy he brings when on the decks is still 110%. It's tough having a DJ like Sean play 2 hours or less, and I'm sure if you gave the guy more time he would show a much better balance of genres. I respect that he is trying a new sound and trying to incorporate it into his sets. I also think that since he's sort of new to the electro style stuff, and he will eventually learn what tracks work and which ones just dont.

I want to thank anyone that stayed for Mark's and my back-to-back set! It was the first time I've ever heard him live and we never even spoke about what we would play, but I think we really caught on to each other's style and had fun with it. That's what it's all about. I even hit 140 bpm's near the end of the set hahaha!!! First time in years I've spun that fast :)

Haha I heard about your parents being there, that's awesome they support you both!

As for Sean, its ok. Its just not what I wanted to hear. Im not trying tobsay hes a bad DJ, i just didnt like the style. I can tolerate Electro, but for only so long. If it works for him, that's cool. The crowd overall seemed to enjoy it so one club goer is nothing he'll lose sleep over.

I probably would've stayed if it was just me but my friend was tired and she had that look like she was ready for bed. I did read a lot of good press about you and Mark, so cheers to that and hope I get a chance to catch you in action again soon.

Can someone please ID this track from one of the openers? Sorry for really ty phone recording, you may need to EQ bass down to hear the actual melody, if it's possible. According to time stamp on recorded file, this was dropped right at 12:00 - 12:01am.

Or... maybe someone can post TL for DJs?

Halp plz
