Mate, you need to get the kick and toms really speaking to one another - test them on commercial systems like you say. Here on my basic Dell speakers it sounds not good - whereas CVS tracks sound decent on them.
Then get the bass right, and then once thats all rocking, do the rest.
This minimal stuff is hard to do well as each element has to be fantastic.
Don't give up tho - CVS himslef goes on about how he has to wrestle with tracks for ages to get em working. |

Thanks, yeah, always going forward. I'm working on this at the moment, should sound much better.

| I'd comment on your music more, but I honestly don't know where to begin. You do so many different iterations of the same tune that it's a little humbling. They're all fun to listen to and each of them could be turned into a full tune of their own; let alone combined with your other ideas. Anyway, I can't criticize anything you're doing. I'd love to have all of your completed ideas in my collection, though. Just offering my encouragement. Keep doing what you're doing if it makes you happy. Even if you're otherwise contiguous ideas are parsed from various stages of development, it will always be interesting to hear. |

| I suppose I'm reaching for something I haven't quite grasped yet, not sure what it is or when I'll get it but I am having fun. At the moment I'm trying to get back in the flow of working on a new computer. Good news is that I do have pretty much every track I've ever worked on in Ableton, going back about 3 years or so. I have always contemplated going back and making a couple albums. Thanks for listening either way. |

Please do. FWIW, maybe you'll find what you're looking for, doing that. Having made albums (that I'm not particularly proud of), I can honestly tell you that I've found that I have a lot of things to strive for that still elude my comprehension. Regardless, no pressure or even criticism. If you're having fun, you're still very good at it. My suspicion is that when you reach that tipping point, it's going to be something even bigger than the already extensive sum of the parts you have in place. |

Cool thanks, and yeah I hope so. Seems like it. Can always learn/develop more.
Took the bass synth, reworked the track. |

Some of those track have tons of potential but you need to focus on one of them at the time and develop into a full track - your head must be spinning around with tens of different concepts lol.
Just pick one and work on it - I would like to see what you can end up with :D
Cheers man,

| Haha well, it's kind of just for fun right now! I don't always have a lot of time to sit down and work on stuff. So sure, I'll hammer away at once until it's more solid, then post. I got itchy fingers. |

| Assuming that the track (once it's finished) resembles what I have there, what do you think? I have some pretty cool grooving bassline action and I can use that as an anchor for the rest of the track. Would love some feedback on it though, as it's about 5 minutes. The end drags a little bit but I had to pack up and take off. |
