I owe an apology to my New York fans.
The original plan this weekend was to record the Scream release party set from the Best Buy Theater, to air on GDJB this Thursday. Due to circumstances beyond my control (which I only found out about a few minutes before beginning my set), we were unable to capture a recording of the night.
So my apologies to all of you who attended the show and had hoped to relive it again through GDJB. I will do my best to make it up to the NY family soon.
The World Tour will go ahead however, featuring my set live from Labour of Love at the Koolhaus in Toronto on Sunday night.

Thanks for the heads up I_Am_Vince. In case anyone is wondering where the above quote came from it's from Markus' FB page: https://www.facebook.com/markusschu...151078515489947
NYC's misfortune is Toronto's win in this case. Markus has nothing to be sorry for because the LOL2012 set was damn good! Can't wait to hear part of it again on Thurs. |

no It shows how a D.J can be so random and/or under pressure to do what he's asked to from a bigger act. And How some bookings are simply Off base for an event of such magnitude in this city...
I saw Way out west empty the main room once, so did James Zabiela, Mauro,,,,the list goes on and on |

I spur-of-the-moment went with a friend on Saturday night around 2. I figured if I were to go out that night, it would have been to see Maya Jane Coles at Footwork, but for some reason, we felt the energy of Guv calling our names. It had been a long time since I stepped foot inside the venue and much longer since I've heard any good trance live.
I can't believe I didn't know that Jaytech was playing Labour of Love. He's the DJ I most want to see, but I didn't realize he had an 11:30-1:00am set time until it was too late.
Fortunately, PVD and Ferry did not disappoint. PVD was so much better than the last time I saw him, playing a much more melodic set with a nice variety of tunes. Ferry came on and was playing really trancey to start--much to my liking--but then the sound cut out during his second track. After he sorted out the issue, he started up again with a less trancey sound and never really returned to the vibe he opened with, but I thought it was an amazing set, nonetheless. Unsurprisingly, the crowd cleared out once Ferry hopped off stage at 5:20, which left a ton of space for dancing. Mark Oliver was playing some phenomenal beats--really driving, slightly techy trance. I think he would have played the set of the night for me had it lasted longer than 25 minutes. At about 5:45am, the Kool Haus closed and we were forced into Guv. Only lasted about three minutes in the sardine can. I think it was Hardwell who was playing. Admittedly, I didn't give him much of a chance, but during the three minutes I did give him, I wasn't impressed in the least.
Departed just before 6, and I am so happy I went. Awesome experience. Would have loved to see Markus and Funkagenda Sunday night, but didn't want to switch into a nocturnal sleep cycle. |

I wasn't at his set this weekend, so I can't speak to it, but the last two times I've seen Markus have disappointed me: April 2011 and Labour of Love 2010. However, the six hour set he played in May 2010 was incredible.

Yeah, Funkagenda and Markus were playing at the same time. I would have bounced back and forth. My suspicion is I would have started with Markus, lost interest, and then hopped over to Guv to hear Funkagenda bang it out. |
