I ask this question every so often to find out how long fellow TA's have been partying in the "scene".

My first party was back in 1998. I believe it was MegaBuzz back at the old Homebase in Oakland.

My first "real" party that changed my musical appreciation was a Spundae party with Sasha And Digweed back at 1015.

I started back in 92/93 doing the occasional techno/rave thing with my uncle. I was like 14 yrs old. lol Than around 95 I got into the whole party crew thing and threw my first underground in 1996. Up to this date, I still didn't follow DJ's or was all hardcore about it. I was more into just doing my own thing, getting gigs and having a good time.

When the party crew scene went to around 1999, thanks to WinAmp, I discovered Sasha & Digweed. lol I used to design rave flyers at the time and was lucky enough to have internet at my office. I used to stream Radio 1 and it was like it opened the flood gates to a whole new world of music that was relatively unknown to me.

S&D were playing trance at the time, Hip Hop was blowing up in SoCal. AHP, Godskitchen, Club Rubber, and Static were pretty much the only spots to get big DJ's in LA regularly. The Mayan had the occassional Thursday gigs and Avalon was called The Palace. They had Club KIIS on Saturday Nights, and AHP for afterhours. Giant & Spundae came later on. Insomniac was still throwing raves.

In 2007 or 2008, I threw my last party.

1999 at some random rave near Magic Mountain called "Lifted to XTC"

Ahhh I remember that place. Helped throw a party there with Jerry Bonham.

My first party was an "All in the Family" event in 1996 w/ DJ Dan.

Funny though, like Billy...when "I got it" was at 1015. (Really wish I could remember the DJ..but I was too new.) Everything was just on point...music, friends, crowd, lights, dancing, etc.

We got there early there were only like 20 people in the main room...and I just watched and listened...all of a sudden it just clicked. Been a part of me ever since.

First time going out to listen to EDM at a club was the monthly Thump Radio party at 550 Barneveld, SF in late 2000.

As for "partying", July 4th, 2001, GIANT at Hollywood Athletic Club, Christopher Lawrence. I'll never forget that night. :D

Where's the LIKE button?

I'll never forget. We went to a party where the map point was at some warehouse in downtown LA but the party was a 2 hour drive somewhere in the mountains. Needless to say, the party never got raided.

Promoters were smart back then. Most of the time, map points were at a different city than the actual party was and tix were sold at the map points only. They always disguised the map points good. I went to some that were at Art Galleries, Print Shops, restaurants, etc.
