Have touchy subjects like religion and politics driven a lot of people away from TA? (pg. 2)

I remember when the first page was filled with same day threads, sometimes even 2 pages. Now you see a whole week or more.

I think a lot of members are still around but just lurk. No posts. Taking myself for example, I used to average 7+ posts per day and lucky if I do 7 in a month but I still check the forum daily. I think a lot of people are in the dame boat.

I feel the same way. As Megnetonium mentioned, with other priorities in life such as career, family and electronic music...things like politics and religion especially are so irrelevant. At least this is the direction it seems to be heading...and this thread is a prime example. I bet a thread on Joel Zimmerman's newest nutsac tattoo would get 50x more responses.

Not entirely. This forum is for discussions about the Toronto scene. What you're describing is the c0r.

I don't think that "touchy" subjects are driving people away from TA. Its the fact that some people move ahead with life, get careers, kids and move somewhere else. Get other priorities. Post less, or log off altogether.

Or, they stop posting because there's too much ego on TA these days. You start a thread about David Guetta and people go ape against some poor guy who likes his music. I know this might hurt some people's feelings, but elitism and personal attacks / circle-jerking runs aplenty on TA, unfortunately. Thats what drives people away ... to more useful things in day-to-day life.

This.

It really all comes down to life. Its only natural..

I used to write long assed emotion filled review at one time...now I could care less..

different time different age.

TA has given me the opportunity to meet some of the best people I could have the pleasure of meeting over the past 10 years and for that I will be ever grateful.

I think Facebook has a lot to do with it as well.

Yup! Agreed on this. I feel sorry for the new crowd, it's like walking through a mine field here sometimes.

So to many it's like..

Man, me too. So much better than a simple "Happy Birthday" on FB nowadays. As Kelly said, it'd make you feel so special after reading a birthday thread on your bday.
