Hey, will Sonar release slot times for this event? I hope I don't have to make too many tough choices. My must see's: Gesaffelstein, PK, Die Antwoord. I really hope there aren't any overlap for these 3.

I didn't think they were looking at it being a multiple room event. There shouldn't be any overlap at all.

Thanks for that. I thought I remember reading something that suggested 2 rooms. That makes me really happy.

Aight, when are people arriving for?

Pretty sure this is the dealio:

Doors open: 8 pm
Show start: 9 pm
Curfew: 2 am

Me, Blackness and Mandy should be there by 830 figure.

Gods, work on Friday back in Collingwood is going to be F.U.N.

lol

, I might not be able to go again! My friend bailed on the roadtrip, and don't want to do it alone, but also don't want to be out $200 for the tickets and hotel.

Unfortunately not. I'm on a pretty tight budget till the new year.

just came back from it

die antwoort was boring, the techno room was good but the soundsystem was pathetic

My thoughts:

Paul Kalkbrenner: Big fan of his. Really enjoyed his set and the animated way he DJs.

Die Antwoord: I'm not a fan, but they put on a decent show. Crowd was wild. A lot of people left right after.

Room 2: The sound here is terrible. I'm not sure what the deal was, but they boosted the bass momentarily for Nic Fanciulli, but it was back down to a barely audible level shortly after. I think they only upped the bass during the room 1 intermission maybe? It was difficult to enjoy, sometimes not even realizing if the bass was dropped.

General thoughts: Room 1's sound wasn't very good either, but it was adequate. Still gives the effect of coming out of a big tin can. I left shortly after 1 AM, since I didn't feel as if I can enjoy Troxler's set with terrible sound.

I will skip out on future events at Sound Academy, not worth the bad sound.
LightsOut
Went for Kalkbrenner and left right after. Can't really complain for $35. Would have liked the set to be longer, but with the amount of acts on the bill it is what it is.
