Won't put a context for this one, just react and post thoughts here. |

| Apparently he gets a lot of DJ gigs, but I find this production very subpar. The only thing that is decent is the chord progression, but the production itself simply doesn't stand up to today's production standard. I know I said I wouldn't put this post into any context but I did want to share my thoughts. I've met him and he's a nice guy, so I'm not bashing him in any way. Just curious. :) |

| well i agree all he has is the chord progression and a well made kick. I am listening on skype headphones so can't really judge the mixdown but the kick seems tight. The sound design is quite cheap and percussion or in this case lack of it makes the track bland. Looks like a wannabe Axwell/Avicii with the piano synth, double claps and so on but i'd never play this out. It doesn't even has some hi hats to add some drive... |

| My thoughts exactly. The only person who would play this out is him. But my personality curiosity begs to know how someone could promote and rely on this stuff for their image, when it's such low quality? How would he even respond to critical feedback? There is none on the SC page, and from the way he promotes his music he doesn't seem to think it needs any work. Unless that's some trend of promoting music, rather than waiting to practice, work and improve the sound, before promoting it. *shrug* |

Just to be clear here, i'm not going to DISS another producer, but even though it's rude, I will give unsolicited criticism (which many people open themselves up to willingly or not if they put an artistic work on soundcloud, so if you get criticism there, then it shouldn't be thought of as rude).
The guys' ideas are in the right place, but his sound textures are lacking. The thing that makes me mad are that people gave the guy positive comments. A simple "i don't like it" or "i don't like it, but..." go a long way. Lots of people on the internet are fishing for listens, and are afraid of giving some criticism. He could go with more layering in his synth work.
Producers, friends, and folks on the net should be more honest with their comments. I personally would like it if I had people tell me I suck (I think I do). The guy could be going in a better direction faster if more people told him his song needs refinement. |

| I am by no means an expert but just because your a mediocre to poor producer does not mean its impossible to get DJ gigs. In fact, in a local club circuit productions means next to nothing I think. Its all about who you talk to and who you know. |

| the hat and the glasses are kinda dated. Same for the music. Nothing interesting , the chord progression has a nasty parallel 5th that would sound atrocious to anyone with a musical ear which tells me he doesn't , which tells me this is not something that comes natural to him which tells me he has alot of work ahead to sound decent. The production is missing the basics. Kick and bass. Just seems like he doesn't really know where he is going or what he likes and his lack of style just compounds the poor production. |

sounds like an avicii wannabe
he uses nexus piano same way avicii does and layers it the same way avicii does
only difference is that his melody is quite bad compared to other professional records
also his mixing just doesn't sound right
everything is out of balance
the kick is too loud etc etc etc
what city is it btw?
i'm in NYC |

He probably gets a lot of gigs cause he's a nice guy and knows a lot of people and likely does it for free
Evolve you should be having no problems getting booked, if thats what this is about |

| Ill second what everyone else said since theres nothing else to really say.. i thought the melodies and progression would change but its just the same over and over it made my ears bleed. (doesnt help that i dont really listen to this type of music), at least Avicii's stuff is easier on the ears and has frequent changing. I dont know how this guys getting so many listens though.. is it that people really like this track or hes begging them to listen to it? lol |

I tend to agree with the above statements with the exception that I actually like the feeling in the chord progression. But again, there seems to be a lot missing. It sounds like it should be a decent track but its really only a couple steps ahead of my new track:
