I prefer when Kazelle opens up for Digweed. They've been friends for a long time so Kazelle knows exactly what to do to set the mood right.

+1. I like Adam but he's really shines more as a deep house DJ IMO. I really enjoy his sets at his Soul and Tonic events. I know he has a pretty wide range since he also has to play more commercial stuff for his Disney gigs but I thought his track selection didn't really fit the Digweed style and was too uptempo IMO. It really showed when it went from his last track to Digweed's a lot slower, more mellower opener. When Kazell opens for Digweed, the night seems to have a better overall flow musically for me.

couldn't have said it better myself.

i also noticed that the opening DJ has a big affect on Digweeds attitude. If he really likes the opener, he tends to feel a little more relaxed. he looked a little more tense on Saturday. could have been the new venue too... who knows.

We were guessing what Digweed was talking about to the Exchange guys when he got there. My guess was that there was way too much lighting going on especially on the DJ booth. Digweed always seems to like it dark, with no lighting on the DJ. Even with the LED display behind Adam turned off during his set, it was pretty bright and you could see Adam clearly. When Digweed came on, all of those lights were gone and even with the LED display, you could only see the signature Digweed shadow the rest of the night.

How sick was Digweed last night? :D He started off with some pounding tech house and techno, then for the last 2 hours he was dropping ridiculous mind melting track after track. Dark and really aggressive sounds. He played for 4 hours and a lot of people stayed until the very end.

He also played this track from his 2007 essential mix, which I really like.

THIS. I will post a couple videos to youtube and post links later. but yeah those last 2 hours were some alien . true progressive. We were so tired and everytime we talked about leaving he kept dropping sick mixes.

havent closed out a club like that in a while. good to see diggers is still all business.

so good.

I thought it was a fantastic set. A perfect flow from diggers, ending with a tsunami of sounds over the last hour.

Agreed about the opener, Digweed is a tough guy to open for, but that said, it was a stark change when digweed got on.

I was very impressed with the production and lighting guys. They built it up along with digweed's set perfectly. The visuals (Im guessing provided by Digweed) were sick.

It was still pretty busy up until his the lights came on. Good to see alot of friends!

Here's the full playlist of the video clips I took that night. Not much to see since it was so dark -> http://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...tMZJijZzRbSp75i

Here are 2 of them ->

Digweed flat out likes it dark. Been to many events with him w/ various promoters & clubs over the years and he always asks about turning things off to make it darker.

He is also known to say something when his opener doesn't fit and he notices when he arrives. Have seen more than a couple openers asked to transition into something diff at the end of his or her set before he comes on. If an headliner does that, usually means the opener just didn't match up or do his homework at the very least. That said, I remember him stressing a little with one opener and he ended up flowing out of that opener with perfection and was one of my fav sets from him of all time. Reminded me of 90s Diggers that night....o

I missed the last hour of Diggers, as usual. I think I'm going by myself the next time he's in town.
