Hey guys DJ Mag's annual popularity contest is almost upon us and if you have been following DJ Mag on Facebook then you'll see the run up to the top 100. There stating at 150 and working there way to 101 with the DJ Mag revealing the Top 100 on the 22nd of October.
With "EDM" hitting main stream America harder then ever this year the list really is going to get really ummm i guess "pop" (yeah thats a good word, right) then ever before.
Anyways I though it was funny when they announced yesturday that Sven Vath has dropped out of the top 100 and landed at #139.
DJ Mag says in there post "Oh-Oh brace yourself for the comment firestorm. Cocoon hero hemself Sven Vath drops out of the 100"
I'm not a techno man myself but yeah thats kind of ty.
Other notables out of the top 100 - Joris Voorn (#148), ArenJ (#134) and Fatboy Slim (#135)
Anyways I thought it would be a good thread/topic to discuss or straight up TROLL lol |

| At the end of the day it's not DJMag's fault. The DJs are voted in, so the more elusive underground techno DJs might not get as many votes. I wonder how high Avicii, deadmau5, Skrillex, Calvin Harris will get. |

For sure thats why there should be a seperate list made up of peers in the industry. Similar to what mixmag does. Im not big on techno myself.
Sasha landed at number 3. |

Beat me to it.
this sums up this poll pretty well.
In related news, next time Sasha is at Stereo. I highly recommend every TA makes the trip out to see him.
edit:
additionally, for a former DJmag poll winner to fall out of the top 100 really shows how much the edm scene has changed in 10 years. |

It is their fault for doing a user-voted list. |

| What's the highest ranking a Canadian DJ has ever gotten on this poll? Richie Hawtin? |
