Possible DJ Mag 2012 Top 10 (pg. 6)
View this Thread in Original format
Cool1g
Kaskade posted a pretty good blog post today about how he could care less (before the results came out).

His point was his fans vote with their feet by going to shows... that takes a lot more dedication than pushing a button on a computer in a popularity contest.

never even heard of a few of those in the 30s!
Pantone199c
Guetta sinks down to 4th, I mean at least Armin only sank down 1 slot not 3. Still puke at this list...
auteuriste
Most of the DJs that I'd want to go and see are either far down the list or aren't on there at all.. guess my tastes are still underground..

Resident Advisor is the poll that's more up my alley, apparently.
modthispny
pretty crazy to still see tiesto relevant, even moving up to #2 after dropping.
Cool1g
Daft Punk #44

they are great djs. i mean its only been like 10 years since they spun live for a crowd.

Most of the names up there you may not recognize are hard style / hard dance DJs & Producers. I'm guess Q-Dance really helped mobilize the votes for them (Q-Dance is owned by ID&T for those that don't know).

How so? Yea his music sucks but the guy has a brand about him, and completed a US College tour this year. Fanboys voted for him I'm sure. To those that like him, he is still an icon in the industry, even if his sounds has gone to hell in the process.
