LOL.

Coxx, you're hating on this event so much. No love for some uplifting cheese? Can't really be much worse than Tritonal at guvvy

There's a lot more then you think. I suspect we'll see many TAs there too.

I'd agree with that and it's part of why I'm not going. Hope it goes well for those attending but I'm skeptical at best.

Care to share?

It's been a long time since I've been to an all trance party. I was planning to see Marco Carola tomorrow night, but after seeing Carlo Lio destroy Footwork last week and then Richie last night, I think I've had my techno fill and it's time for me to indulge in my favourite genre of music. Other than Mr. Morton, I haven't previously seen any of the DJs on the bill. I hope they impress.

I haven't been to Sound Academy in a couple of years. How's the sound? From what I gathered on the boards, Sonar's sound quality was lacking. Seems absurd for a venue of such name.

What sort of a male:female ratio do you think a trance party pulls these days?

For trance parties like Above and Beyond, a ratio of 654861:1

Hahaha so it seems to be said on TA. TATW is arguably my favourite thing to listen to, but I've only seen Above & Beyond live once, which was awesome. The ratio wasn't bad that night though. Amongst my friends, I feel as though more girls like them than guys.

Just some bad experiences, flaky/cancelled events, game playing with ticket sales and poor organisation. To back this up with a real life experience so it's not just hypothetical crap talking I'll highlight the last event I went on by this guy/his people which was a boat cruise and I told myself it'd likely be the last of their events I attend because:

-claimed it was "almost sold out" leading up to the event and the boat wasn't even half full.
-Early birds were $40 + fees if I recall then a few days before the event (likely cause they hadn't sold many tickets) there were some being offered for $25 or something much cheaper.
-Had a boarding time of 11am, didn't let people on till somewhere around 1.
-Worst part by far was the DJ equipment didn't even arrive till close to 2. Until then it was just an audio feed from god knows what, probly someone's ipod.
-Forget the exact time but it was the latest departure of any of the 20+ boats I've been on.
-Not a huge deal but no DJs were set up downstairs which is the norm for cruises of that cost/size on the Gambler.

I believe there were 2 promotions company so really not sure whose fault it was. But this combined with experiencing flakiness around their other events, no thanks. On a long shot I'd potentially attend something of theirs if it was one of my fav DJs in a good venue. But overall there's just a lot of good promotion companies in Toronto that have their crap together and book proper DJs to attend events of ones that are crappy imo. Perfect example would be if I wanted some legit trance I'd opt for an Oz event at Toika which rarely have problems vs something like this by a promoters I haven't been impressed with. Just my 2 cents...

Word. Thanks for the info. I'm definitely a fan of what Oz is doing. Mind you, my schedule and his events haven't lined up as often as I would like, e.g. John "00" Flemming.
